Our Story
Welcome to the Wellow Dam page. Wellow Dam is operated by Thoresby Angling Club. The lake is thought to originate from around 1145AD and is spring fed. It is close to an acre in size and has 25 well spaced pegs.
The lake is available for pleasure fishing and match fishing.
Wellow Dam is well stocked with Carp to 25lbs, Tench and Bream to 3lb, Roach, Ide, Chub and Rudd to 1lb, Perch to 3lb, Barbel to 3lb. The odd rogue eel to 6lb have been seen in the winter months.
Fishing is Dawn until Dusk unless stated otherwise on the notice board.
2018 prices:
Day Tickets £6 per rod
Match prices: £6 per peg, £120 for all the pond.
