And it just keeps on getting better and better, second day of Newbury Show, this time the wind had settled and we even had glorious sunshine for most of the day. The Dancing Diggers were fantastic as were the Vine and Craven hounds.
What a fabulous weekend, well done NADAS, see you next year. 🚜🧑‍🌾🐷🐐🐴🐄🐖🐑🐔
A huge special mention must go to our members for helping us to support this show. We came second in the scarecrow making competition (well done Bradfield YFC for winning).

Without our members, we wouldn’t have the amazing club we do, so well done to each and every one of you who volunteered over the weekend to man the stand, stock judge, take part in the games in the countryside ring and breed board carry in the livestock show as well as put up and take down the stand. You’re all amazing 🤩

First day of the show nailed! 😁

1st day at Newbury Show done and what a day!! So much to see at the show - racing lawnmowers, dancing diggers, horses, livestock, small animals, falconry displays, lots of huge farming machinery, loads of craft and delicious foods and of course Young Farmers games. We will be back in the countryside ring tomorrow at 12.15 with more games. The Berkshire Youg Farmer stand will be welcoming everyone all day too, come and take a look.

This evening, the hay barn looked a little scary as our members constructed scarecrows in preparation for The Newbury Show this weekend and National Young Farmers Week Scarecrow Challenge, that takes place in October.
It took a little longer than we thought and we didn’t manage to do individual scarecrows as we would have liked, but much fun was had in the construction, although some of the finished articles look a little frightening!
Some great team work was shown and everybody enjoyed the tuck shop being back open to top up the energy levels at the end of the meeting.

Last week we visited Rowles Vinyard and farm in West Ilsey.

Huge thanks to the Carlisle family who gave us a tour of the farm and the Vinyard. We got to taste the grapes 🍇 as they are approaching harvest and they will then be converted in lots of lovely bottles of w**e.

Who knew we had this on our doorstep 🍇🍷🍾🚜
