📷 2 years ago today! Had just managed to convince that putting his life savings into these 4 walls would all be worth it and work began

It's been so hard at times but so incredibly worth it. I'm so proud of the community we have built here, the progress our members have made here, the athletes we have built here and some of the insane lifts that have fallen under this roof.

It's everything I ever wanted

Thank you to all of our members who make this place what it is - home!

Let's see where we are in another 2 years!

KAOS ENGLISH U64KG CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Another national podium for a member of our team!🥉

xox Has an incredible journey in this sport over the last 18 months!

Shell has come VERY close to a podium position in the last few comps she has done, narrowly missing out at UKNS Englands a few weekends ago!

Just got straight back to work (which she's very good at doing) and last weekend she managed to seal the deal and secure her podium spot, in the weightclass ABOVE the one she would usually compete in, in a field of generally bigger, and more experienced competitiors!

Genuinely back this lady to do well in any weightclass, tested or untested, and always looks frustratingly good doing it too💃

Go Shell ❤️

❌️I do not run 6 week "bootcamps" or "challenges" at our gym❌️

Here's why ⬇️

👉Losing weight isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. Traditional bootcamps often cram everyone into the same regimen and disregard individual needs.

👉I don't believe in going from 0-100% for a 6-12 week period, suddenly exercising intensely every single day, and drastically reducing your calories for a short period of time in order to "melt fat"🙄or "get into the shape of your life"🥱

👉Over the last 8 years I've worked in the fitness industry - (and having run several of these 'bootcamps' myself) - I'm well aware , that for 90% of people - the moment the bootcamp is over - they think 'problem solved', become complacent and return to their old habits.

They gain the weight back, and usually then some. And they feel sh*ttier than ever.

👉I know these bootcamps sound "sexy" and "effective" and feel like a "fast fix" , but the reality is - they don't work. Not forever.

You go home. You walk through the door, into the kitchen, open the fridge and realize, Sh*t... All of the problems that caused me to overeat and gain weight in the first place are still here.

You may be slimmer now, you might be covered in spraytan, and completely dehydrated from the water cut they made you do for your 'transformation' pictures(which they have used to promote their amazing programme for new clients)🫠. But your mind is still warring against you, urging you to sabotage your efforts and before you know it, you are back where you started, only with worse body image issues.

👉In addition - there is MASSES of research that now shows us how ill-advised rapid weight loss is, and will generally just cause you a slower metabolism, a loss of lean muscle mass, nutrient deficiencies or even gallstones.

Not so sexy, right?👎

So... what DOES work...⬇️

👉A permanent approach to weight loss that does not involve aggressive dieting, detoxing, shakes, pills, powders, or extreme, unsustainable measures.

👉Try to percieve exercise as something you do because you love and care about your body, as oppose to because you hate and want to change it.🏃‍♀️

👉Change the way you talk to yourself, replace self-sabotaging thoughts with encouraging ones.

👉Eat to fuel your body, and not to starve it. Eat more protein🥩, vegetables🥕, fruits🍎, wholegrains🌾 and reduce how much refined sugar🍬 you are currently having.

Drink more water.💦

Focus on these commitments ⬆️as oppose to a number on the scale

👉Find ways of exercising that you actually find enjoyable, join a community of like minded people👭, and incorporate resistance training to reap the multitude of proven health benefits.🏋‍♀️

At Shelter Of Strength, my mission is to help you feel confident, powerful, mentally and physically strong, and change your relationship with your body.🥰

I am here to help you develop healthy, sustainable eating habits, become stronger and gradually improve your fitness levels, implement ENJOYABLE training programmes that WORK, and provide you with healthy habits for life. ⚖️🏋‍♀️🏃‍♀️🥗

Because of this grounded, holistic view of weight loss, I do not make guarantees about the number of pounds you will lose in a given period of time. 🚫

And guess what, despite " melting fat " not being the primary focus at our gym, majority of our members WILL still lose weight during their time here, or more specifically, improve their body composition as they build lean muscle mass, and naturally drop body fat.

And these physical changes are MUCH easier to maintain without drastic, intensive action.✅️

🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️🔸️🔹️

There are still a few spaces for our small group training sessions in January.🟢

If you're ready to break the mould and try something different, to do something that actually works, and change your relationship with exercise, drop me a message to come along for your first session free of charge.

Bootcamps are for TODAY👇, but isn't it time you thought about TOMORROW?🤷‍♀️
