A few difficult results for the girls recently
loosing back to back games 6-3 , without playing anywhere near what they can

However today was a different story , out the blocks quickly creating chance after chance in an end to end game , the intensity in closing down the opposition was there today along with the composure on the ball, on another day wed of been out of sight by half time , both keepers brilliant in the 2nd half

The girls played against a physically strong Westerhope side tonight, it was always going to be challenge for the girls to learn how to manage playing 2 games close together after Monday

Struggling to manage the pitch and wind we went 2 goals down , once the girls worked this out we started creating some good opportunities if we’d went in 2-1 down a half time that would of been a fair reflection of the half , with confidence beginning to rise and the girls becoming more composed on the ball we poured numbers forward in the second half but couldn’t find a goal eventually conceding a 3rd on the break, in patches we played some excellent football with the final pass just missing today , we go again Saturday

After 8 weeks without a game, we were back in action as we welcomed heaton hawkes to bullock Steads

Heaton needing just a point to win the league , the girls showed no sign of rust playing some great football out from the back and dominating the game , Leah found Iyla with a great cross and she slotted home for 1-0, an effort from Leah was saved by the opposition keeper and Iyla slotted home for us to go 2-0 ahead and well deserved playing into the wind

Heaton came out second half strong and as we began to tire after the time without a game , they managed to make it 2-2 with some great efforts on goal , we hit the bar inbetween those and both keepers made some great saves , a brilliant game of football that had everything , well done to all involved

Wallsend at home today

We welcomed Wallsend to west end today ,with the pitch looking like Wembley we got off to a quick start , dominating the ball , with Libbie driving forward from the left and linking up with the dangerous Leah who was causing chaos slipping past players like they weren’t there , on the right hand side Olivia was solid defensively and played the ball out well , and Chloe in the middle making timely interceptions we looked very strong

Leah was released in behind by Abbey and she skipped past 2 defenders and the keeper made a good save and Maddy was on hand to finish off a great move

Ava and Evie dominated in the centre of the pitch and we began to release Abbey down the right side of the pitch and the opposition couldn’t deal with her pace and direct running , we won a corner on the right side and Ava found Evie from the corner and she rifled a volley into the roof of the net to put us 2-0 ahead

As the second half began we swapped keepers and Chloe was impressive on her debut and Emily caused problems running behind the opposition defence , by this time the opposition were terrified of Abbey who was in impeccable form , maddy then found Abbey who tapped in to make it 3-0

As the game wore on we kept playing against a Wallsend team who kept battling and putting challenges in , Ava then released Abbey into the box and she found the bottom corner with a brilliantly taken finish

After 6 weeks without a game we traveled to North Shields for a game that we knew would be a test , the game started evenly with both sides cancelling each other out in the final 3rd , with some brilliant defending from Olivia Libbie and Leah and some good stops by Emily between the sticks we kept the opponent at bay , at the other end after some good football Maddy was just denied a route to goal , Evie won numerous challenges and was often fouled as she looked to get out with the ball and drive us forward … A fortunate deflection fell to a Shields striker and she volleyed home , we found ourselves 2-0 down at the break

We looked to start the second half fast with Iyla and Abbey both testing the oppositions back line , Maci was holding the ball up well and harrying the opposition , Ava began to find pockets of space in the midfield and we were able to try to play through the gaps , however we were hit on the break twice and score finished 4-0

We welcomed Burradon to walbottle today ,we found ourselves a goal down quickly after a very slow start , we then began to find our feet creating a lot of chances and dominating the game but after not making our dominance pay we then conceded another from a long range effort , we began to wake up and went straight back on the front foot but found ourselves 2-0 at half time against the run of play

The second half began the same way the first ended with burradon having to hold on to their lead they defended well , we then found a goal after through ball from Ava which Evie took from the keeper and curled into the top corner , we pressed on creating more opportunities but today wasn’t our day after some brilliant football and dominating the game for 45 minutes we lost 2-1
