My journey into yoga began in 2015 while studying Dance and Performing Arts at LIPA. From my very first class, I fell in love—not just with the movement, but with the sense of connection, community, and way it made me feel. Yoga quickly became more than a physical practice; it became a way to express myself freely and authentically. That experience transformed my life, and now, I aim to create the

If you’d told me a year ago I’d be back in a dance studio, I’d have laughed. Then probably cried 😂

For 8 years I was genuinely scared to go back. I convinced myself I’d lost it, that I’d have wasted all the years of training, that I’d somehow missed my chance to start again.

But joining North East Dance Project was never just about starting dance classes again. It was about finding my way back to something I’d loved my whole life. The biggest thing I’ve realised? I don’t dance for the same reasons anymore.

Years ago I put so much pressure on myself. Every audition felt like it decided whether I was good enough. I compared myself to everyone and forgot why I loved dancing in the first place.

Stepping away wasn’t giving up. Looking back, I think I just needed that time to grow. Yoga, Pilates and teaching have completely changed the way I see movement. Its taught me that movement isn’t about proving myself. It’s about how it makes me feel. It can just be something you enjoy.

So since May, every Thursday I’ve turned up, worked hard, laughed at myself when I forgot choreography and just enjoyed being back in a studio. Its even led to doing a show again. That honestly wasn’t on my bingo card this year, and I’m so glad I pushed myself.

One of the biggest reasons I’ve fallen back in love with dance is the people. Everyone at North East Dance Project has been so welcoming from day one. No egos, no judgement, just a room full of people who love to dance and want everyone else to enjoy it too. That kind of environment is pretty special.

I’m not trying to be the dancer I was when I stopped. I don’t think I’d want to be. I’m just really enjoying becoming the dancer I am now.

If there’s something you’ve been putting off because you think it’s “too late”... maybe this is your sign to give it a go. You never know what might be waiting on the other side of that first scary step.

Thankyou Amy Becke alyssa for your beautiful choreography and Dandya for your amazing pictures 🫶🏼

after the success of my beach collab (and a little push from Kate🤭) I thought... why not go solo? 🌊

So here we are!!

⏰ 8:30–9:30am

If you’re looking for a wholesome way to start your Sunday, fancy trying something a little different, or simply want an hour to slow down by the sea... this is for you. 💙

We’ll begin with some breathwork to slow everything down (because life is A LOT sometimes especially for you parents in the summer hols😂), move through a feel good yoga flow, then finish with a guided relaxation while listening to the waves. Honestly, not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning 🤩

after last week’s stability challenging wind, I’m manifesting sunny skies and a light gentle breeze, but if not, we’ll embrace it because that’s beach yoga for you. 🌬️😂

No pressure, no expectations, no need to be “good” at yoga. Just come as you are.

If the weather’s kind to us, we’ll hang around afterwards for anyone who fancies a sea dip and maybe head to get a cuppa.

Views, fresh air, yoga, relaxation. Yes please! 🌊🐬🌅

We live in a BEAUTIFUL part of the world and there is nothing better than a yoga session overlooking the ocean.

Join us this Saturday at 8am for a Summer Solstice themed flow ☀️ we meet right next to hideout coffee on the promenade.

Our Beach Yoga is a Vinyasa Flow style class, which is a fun, stretchy and varied style of yoga. As well as breathwork and relaxation, we practise a range of physical postures: standing poses, seated poses, twists and backbends, with optional arm balances and inversions.

Please note, our Saturday morning Beach Yoga sessions don’t happen on the sand. We practise on the concrete by The Hideout Coffee. No stress about wobbling, water and getting sand everywhere. Plus our spot is a little sun trap that gets the least amount of wind along the whole beach. And it’s THE BEST dolphin watching spot!

If the weather is bad, we will contact via text on Friday evening and let you know. Please make sure you have your correct phone number on your account and do not unsubscribe to SMS messaging. The class will then take place in the Wellness Space studio 8.30-9.30am. If you don’t want to do the class in-studio, no worries, just let us know and we can cancel your spot and you’ll get credit to use another time.

The class is mixed level, which means lots of options will be given throughout the class for beginners, intermediate and advanced yogis. As long as you choose the right option that suits your physical body and your energy levels, then you will love this session

Please bring:
- your yoga/exercise mat (the thicker ones are better for your knees)
- warm clothes
- something heavy (tins or small hand weights) to keep your yoga mat down on a windy day
- water
- sun screen
- sun glasses

Book your space through the momence app or website! 🩵
