**FITNESS WHERE TO START**
Normally in January the majority of people decide to take up some sort of fitness with the intention of sticking with it through out the year.🙂
But how many stick with it? Who is guilty of stopping just after you’ve started?
For something to stick it needs to:
⭐️Be Motivating
⭐️Manageable
⭐️Developed into a habit
⭐️Have clear benefits
⭐️Be fun and enjoyable
⭐️Easy to access
⭐️Different
So many people make the mistake of setting the level of their chosen activity too hard. This soon brings around disappointment and negativity as it’s hard to stick with. Goals should be challenging but at the right starting point, it’s easier to make something achievable rather than doing it the wrong way round and starting off too hard.
The best example is: if you want to start running would you go out and run a 10k straight off? No. The sensible thing would be to break it down and maybe even walk run a shorter distance as a starting point. Eventually you will achieve your overall goal but in a more manageable way.
Fitness also doesn’t have to be all out running or boot camps it can be just getting outside for a walk benefiting not just your fitness but also your wellbeing.
Make this year, the year you stick with and achieve your New Years resolutions.

NEW TO FITNESS-WHERE TO START
Fitness isn’t all about joining a new fitness class or booking at PT session.
Take a look around where you live, are you near a park, the coast, the countryside? There is plenty of opportunity just to get out in the fresh air.
Fitness classes and sport might not be your thing but simply setting aside time to go for a walk might be. If you have a dog why not go out for an extra walk? Or set yourself a goal of getting out even if it’s just for 20mins? It’s not all about getting sweaty and pushing yourself to your limits in a fitness environment.
The best tip anyone new to fitness can follow is;
* Start off with small achievable goals - starting off too ambitious or at too hard a level will result in you giving up. Small achievable goals can be gradually increased helping you get there sensibly along with helping you build up a fitness habit.
Write down 3 realistic and achievable things for this January to get started.
Example;
1. Go outside for a walk for 20 mins 3 times a week
2. Get outdoors on a regular basis
3. Look into eating healthier
