This morning we played the reverse fixture from Friday night. The game was a great advert for grassroots football with the Ellington coach saying "that was the best game he has had all season"
In a much tighter affair than Friday, it was fine margins that gave Ellington the win.

Tonight we travelled to our furthest fixture of the season up at Ellington and our 3rd game in 5 days. Didn't fully get to grips with how windy it was up there in the first half but we battled well in the 2nd. As the sun set on the Northumberland coast, the result wasn't to be.

Blyth Town Greens (H)

Blyth came to us today with a game plan and credit to them. First 20mins was fairly even then they scored. We had a couple of chances to score in the run up to half time but it was either last ditch defending or a quality keeper save that stopped us equalising. However, a few mins before the break they hit us on the break and got a second.
Second half we come out with more of a fight. We had more possession and more chances but it just wouldn't fall for us in front of goal.
We did get one back midway through the second half. A quality inswinger of a cross from Harrison to pick out Aidan who cut inside the defender and hammered it in for 2-1.
Unfortunately last 10mins was a bit of a let down. We got caught out from a quick throw in and then the same error cost us a further 2 goals.

Dale was a worthy player of the match. A performance full of energy, commitment and desire. Well Done 👍

***LAST TIME OUT - TYNEMOUTH UNITED BLUES****

First 20mins we weren't quite at the races I thought. We had most of the possession without really creating anything. Went 1-0 down around then as unfortunately we didn't pick the kid up at the back but am sure it's something we can learn from. It was at that point i had to change it around.
Call it inspired changes if you will 🤣 but the last 10-15mins of first half were class. Within a minute or so of coming on Jayden scored with an assist from Kai. Unfortunately, they got a free kick to which they scored from to retake lead. From the restart we nearly equalised, Aidan hitting the bar and Max unlucky not to put the rebound in. We equalised next attack though with Jayden returning the favour for Kai. Just before the break we went 3-2 up with Kai bagging another assist, this time for Max.
Second half it was pretty much all us. Further goals from Bobby, Jayden, Max and Ashton sealed the 7-2 win. On another day we could have had double figures but it wasn't to be. Max had a goal wrongly disallowed when it had crossed the line by a street.
Cracking result that today and keeps the good run of form going. 10pts (3 wins, 1 draw) from the last 6 games we have actually played.
Everyone was fantastic today once we got into the game but for me player of the match has to be Max. He played his heart out today. His desire to get onto any loose ball in the area didn't go unnoticed and on another day should have had 4 goals.

Another successful mini tournament this afternoon involving our U13's and the U14's. We are always grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the older age group

Last Sunday we played a local derby against West Denton down at Newburn as the weather had put paid to our pitches.
The result didn't go our way but we will put that behind us and move onto our next game this Sunday.

Player of the match is Paige. The opposition coach said she is "an exciting prospect"

Massively successful mixed tournament today between us and the U14's. Our team wanted to impress, which they certainly did. Was also great to see the older kids supporting ours promoting teamwork and progression
