Milestone day! Today marks 20 YEARS of Team Hell being a competitor (with F.I.N and Baby Hell in AWS 19 in 2006)!

It’s been an amazing experience, things have gone great, things have not gone quite to plan, but I’m still here, still fighting, and will be for many events to come :)

Happy New Year! Wait, it’s Jan 18th already?

Well it’s been a fair while since I updated, so whilst I’m in recovery mode atm, thought I’d share:

Myself and the ORCS chaps finished the season with a great event, but unfortunately missing the Gauntlet due to timing issues, but we did get to give it a test run at the GRoCS Xmas do, where I also managed to win the “Hercules” rumble (all robots were the same machine) 🙂.

In between those I also got an impromptu judging task at the Hobbyweights champs at University of Chichester (and Mr Thomas Weatherly got a stern talking to about his link placement 😉 ) and have been helping Josh Dunn of Flick! with some wiring, both for his robots and 10 student kits for making their own robots 🙂. I’ll post pics of that when I get some!

2026 started in earnest with Capital Punishment 2 on 3rd of January, but did show up a few faults with the arena that I hope to have addressed by the next event in May.
Talking of arena upgrades, the ORCS/AWS arena is also getting upgraded; new, higher sloped kickplates to keep the fights going, brand new outer screen polycarb and kickboards (old ones were getting a bit scuffed..) and an all new steel floor!

Unfortunately all that business has taken its toll on me, and wore me down to get myself a nasty chest infection that I’m currently working through.

Hopefully all will be well by the time ORCS 11 rolls around, and I hope to see a few friendly faces there 🙂.

Well Saturday was fun! I managed a top 4 finish with Lilith (my semifinal with Joe B’s Grab Crab was intense enough to shred my motor pinion), and also got into the top 4 driving Rammstein as a minibot to Josh Dunn’s spring flipper, Flick!
A better outing all round, and a rather unfortunate ending, but she’ll be back :)
