Hail Midgardians! ⚡️
It’s now only ELEVEN days until the Great North Run! So l I thought I would do an ELEVEN km run (just over half the distance I need to run in the Great North Run!)
I got about halfway and felt like I had a bit more in the tank so I pushed it up to 12km and I’m really happy with that performance!
An energy gel at halfway kept my energy reserves up as I pushed through my longest run in 2023 to a 10km PR!
It was also another glorious night along the beautiful River Eden 🏞️⛰️🌳

A new location for a longer run! It’s been a couple of weeks since I got out running so I’m pleased with this result!

Falkirk Parkrun - New PR!
Official Parkrun time was 27:24 (88th place)! My previous Parkrun best was 31:11!

Tonight I defeated my old PR in the 5k, whilst wearing my training armour (a 10kg weighted vest)!
Remember friends, the most important person you need to face in life is yourself. Try to be a little better and a little kinder as often as you can! Because that’s what heroes do.

I faced the inferno again today but I had the company of the All-father on his Midgardian contraption, a Bi-Sickle, I have heard tell of Midgardians wielding sickles into battle... This bi-sickle must be a truly awesome weapon against one’s foes! ⚔️🛡️💪🏼

A veritable feast consumed at lunch and weather scorching like Muspelheim’s plains verily slowed my pace. Would that I had been blessed with some Jotun to battle along the way, their icy presence would’ve been a comfort amidst the inferno!
