Most lads avoid doing the hard thing.

When started, he was struggling with consistency and had no real plan in the gym. Sessions felt random, progress was unclear, and like a lot of men, he just didn’t have direction.

After enjoying himself a bit too much over Christmas, he knew something had to change. This time, he committed to doing it properly.

Since joining the TC, he’s shown up consistently, followed a structured plan, and put the work in. Even including the leg exercises he used to avoid

The results:
⬇️ Body fat down from 21% → 16%
⬇️ 5kg bodyweight lost
⬆️ Strength and fitness improving weekly

But the biggest shift?

He’s more confident, got more energy, and even said it’s helped him show up better outside the gym. As a better partner, son, and friend.

This is what happens when you stop avoiding the hard things and start training with purpose.

Most lads lose all momentum the second an injury hits.

Routine goes out the window. Motivation drops. And before you know it, you’re back to square one.

Adam injured his knee in October playing football rupturing his ACL, and tearing both his LCL and meniscus.

He was a member at the TC previously, however he suddenly couldn’t train the way he used to.

But instead of sitting out and waiting for things to get better, he made a different call. Adapt, not quit.

We stripped things back, worked around the injury, and focused on what he could do. Showing up consistently, training hard, and keeping structure in place week by week.

No excuses. Just smart training and accountability.

But what’s been the biggest win?

He didn’t let the injury define him.

Confidence is back. Discipline is locked in. He’s proving to himself and everyone else that setbacks don’t mean you have to stop.

That’s the difference.

If you’re injured, busy, or feel like you’ve fallen off track, know you don’t need perfect conditions. You need a plan that works around your situation.

We sat down and talked through Liam’s journey and yeah, building muscle was the goal. But what was the real game changer?

Consistency.

One simple shift of blocking time out for himself as a non negotiable after work to come and train.

Progress isn’t about doing everything perfectly it’s about showing up and doing the basics consistently.

If you’re waiting for the right time, this is your sign to go and create it.

I didn’t realise how much I was leaving on the table until I set a real goal.

Same effort. Different outcome.

Because now there’s a target. A deadline. A reason to push when I’d usually get bored and change my mind.

A 3:20 marathon isn’t just a time, it’s the standard I’m holding myself to right now.

And it’s changed everything. Not just training but how I’m showing up as a person.

If you feel like you’re working hard but not really getting anywhere, it might not be effort you’re missing but the goal and direction.
