What a difference a year makes!! I didn't make the start line last year because of a stress fracture the week before the race...but this year I made it! β˜€οΈ

Today I changed my approach, I didn't follow a strict training plan and my main aim was to enjoy it and have fun....and I did it!πŸ₯Ή

So chuffed with my finish time - 1hr31min45secs - it was soooooo hot but the route was fab and the supporters amazing...and the best part, I loved it!πŸ™Œ

Well done to my awesome sister who also smashed it in 1hr51 and our top supporter Mike who came to cheer us on despite being injuredπŸ‘

This race meant so much to me after a tough injury last year but that injury reminded me why I run...it's because I love running so I took the pressure off and still did a time I am so proud of πŸ™

Believe in yourselves team as we are stronger than we think we are and can achieve great things if we just go for it!❀️

Next challenge...the Ultra!!! πŸ–

What a special night last night was! came to highfivefitness to celebrate the launch of her third book "Runner's Guide to Menopause" πŸ™Œ

I was so honoured when Juliet asked me to write the chapter on strength training. It is such an important topic that I feel so passionate about and to have this opportunity to work with such an incredible woman has been a dream ❀️

Last night was all about bringing women together, educating, empowering and supporting each other. The community was incredible and the support was something I will carry with me. πŸ™

Thank you Juliet for trusting me to help and support you with this and thank you to the amazing people who show their support and encouragement every day. When we work together we build each other up and become stronger both physically and mentally. πŸ’ͺ

What a night, thank you everyone and I hope you all get so much from the book which covers such important topics πŸ–

28/03/2026

I am so proud to have been asked to be a part of third book "The Runner's Guide to Menopause". I first met Juliet around 8 years ago when I went to see her do a talk centred around women and sport at the Newcastle Lit and Phil. I thought she was great then and so went to chat to her at the end of her talk and we spoke about our mutual love for running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

That was the start of our friendship and who would have thought then that so many opportunities would have arisen. Juliet supported me to launch with my friend and fellow coach at the time and Juliet has supported me and been a cheerleader ever since ❀️

When Juliet asked me to contribute to a chapter in her 3rd book I was over the moon and so honoured to have been asked. It is such an important topic and one I see many of my clients affected by every day. The benefits I see through strength training in my every day work with my clients is undeniable. To have a book that is designed to support female runners to allow them to continue with their love of running or even to begin a running journey and support them through this stage of their lives is invaluable. The book covers so many important topics and in my strength chapter I have written strength programmes that women can do in their own homes to ensure they are including this vital aspect of training in their fitness schedules. πŸ’ͺ

I would recommend this book to all women who are looking for support during the menopause or who want to learn more about what they can do to support their health or their friends and family during this period in their lives. This book is empowering and reminds us all that we can do positive things to keep ourselves fit and active throughout the menopause and beyond! πŸ™Œ

Well done Juliet and thank you for all your research into this field...we are lucky to have you as an advocate and cheerleader for women in sport! πŸ–
