๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ Rest is an essential part of the practice.

We rest conciously, usually at the end of a yoga class because it allows the practice to integrate, supports mental clarity, and gives the nervous system space to reset.

๐Ÿ’œ Deliberate rest teaches us to be alert without needing to react. In this space, we cultivate emotional regulation and a gentle awareness, simply observing our thoughts, feelings and senses if they arise, without judgement.

In Savasana, you might experience guided relaxation, body scans, silence, music, Yoga Nidra, or occasionally a poem or inspiring reading.

Could it be this kind of rest your looking for?

๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ Four people. Four different lives.

Different stories, responsibilities, joys and challenges. Different reasons for arriving on the mat.

๐Ÿ’œ In yoga practice, narratives, roles and responsibilities soften. What remains is presence, connection, and the quiet understanding that we're all navigating this human experience as best we can.

Set an intention with me.

๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ Using 'I feel' brings the emotion into the present moment.
Shift your mindset from 'I want to feel at ease' to 'I feel ease'.

๐Ÿ’œToday, tomorrow and as often as you need to return to a gentle reminder at the start of your day - ask your self what feeling would support you and aid your day or week.

Anchor the feeling through slow, deep breathing.

๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ ๐ŸชฌWe're raising funds to replace broken blinds in our main studio space and to install outdoor signage and a clear entrance panel sign on our door.

Our community is mostly adults, from across Newcastle and further afield, including people coping with chronic illnesses and seeking holistic wellbeing support.
We are a trauma-informed, inclusive space where members with specific health needs feel welcome. Privacy, ease and comfort in the environment are crucial.

๐Ÿชท The existing plastic white blinds in our main studio space are broken. They do not sit half open or provide ease of use, and disrupt the calm environment important for the activities at the centre.

๐Ÿชท The outdated outdoor signage (a legacy council sign) confuses visitors making the centre appear closed, anything placed in it fades and it fails to communicate the welcoming, vibrant nature of Shanti Bee CIC or its busy timetable. Many users are not online or on socials, so accessible, up-to-date physical information is needed. These issues have been repeatedly observed and affects both the perception and function of the centre.

๐Ÿ’œ The improvements will create a more welcoming, professional, and nurturing atmosphere, supporting Shanti Beeโ€™s community-focused ethos.
Improvements in visibility, privacy, and clarity of communication are expected to increase usersโ€™ sense of safety and comfort, raise local awareness, and potentially boost participation.

๐Ÿ’œ Can you help us make this project a reality and donate?

๐Ÿชท Replace broken blinds in the main room with high-quality wooden venetian blinds that suit the interior and allow flexible coverage.
๐Ÿชท New signage installed outside and on the front door: a bright, clear sign in the garden to replace the obsolete council sign, and a new information panel on the door to welcome visitors and communicate respectful, trauma-informed entry.

Any donation, and any shares to help spread the word is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

โ˜ฎ๏ธ Shanti means peace. The practice of yoga is about much more than movement, it's about finding inner calm through balance, and presence.

๐Ÿ Bee represents something different. Bees are always busy, working together as part of a collective. Their strength comes not from the individual, but from the hive. They remind us that community, purpose, and connection help us survive and thrive.

Life invites us to be busy. Yoga supports us to slow down.
It's possible to balance both.

To contribute with energy and purpose, while staying grounded in peace.
To be productive without losing yourself.
To belong to the collective without forgetting your own centre.

๐Ÿ’œ That is the spirit of Shanti Bee.
