We are delighted to announce that our 2nd XV will compete in North East Counties 2 North, while our 3rd XV take their place in Candy League Division One as part of the exciting new North East rugby structure for the 2026/27 season.
Both squads face a campaign full of competitive rugby, local rivalries, familiar opponents and fresh challenges. Following another strong year of growth across the club, we’re looking forward to seeing our players continue to develop, compete and represent Novos with pride.
The strength of the club continues to grow both on and off the field, and with increasing numbers at training and on matchdays, we’re also exploring the possibility of introducing a 4th XV during the season to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play and enjoy their rugby.
This is an exciting time to be part of Novocastrians RFC. Whether you’re a current player, returning to the game, or looking for a new club, there has never been a better time to get involved.
A new season. New challenges. New opportunities.
Let’s get excited.

Northumberland Awards Night 🏆
Silverware secured, smiles all round, and now we need a bigger trophy cabinet… plus a stricter dress code policy for certain individuals…🤔

Three years ago, this club was fighting to avoid relegation.
What followed was a complete reset in mindset, standards, and belief.
A commitment to never giving up, never stopping competing, and playing with ambition every single week.
Now look where we are.
🏆 1st XV League Champions
🏆 Counties 1 National Champions
🏆 County Plate Winners
🏆 McQuillin Cup Winners
🏆 2nd XV League Champions
🏆 3rd XV Cup Winners
🥉 3rd XV League 3rd Place
From the 3rd XV right through to the 1st XV, every player, coach, volunteer, physio, sponsor, supporter, family member and committee person has played a part in the most successful period in our club’s history.
This season summed up everything this club is about.
At Twickenham, 17-0 down after 20 minutes in 30-degree heat, the lads could have folded. Instead, they showed the character, fight and togetherness that has defined this club for the last three years — battling back to win 31-24 and becoming National Champions.
But this season was never just about one game.
It was about Tuesday and Thursday nights under the lights at Sutherland Park. It was about the packed buses, the touchline support, the volunteers behind the scenes, and every single person who believed in what this club was building.
The support this year has been unbelievable. Home and away, week after week, you carried us over the line.
To everyone who travelled, cheered, sponsored, helped organise events, worked behind the bar, washed kit, taped shoulders, ran water, or simply wore the badge with pride — thank you.
Three years. One vision. One club.
Enjoy the rest, lads.
Because the next challenge has already begun.
Level 6 awaits.
Up the Vos.❤️🖤🤍
