Game Day in Yorkshire 🏈

A huge effort from both our U16 and U19 Giants, who travelled to Yorkshire this weekend for another round of league action.

Our U16s took to the field first, falling 33-0 to Yorkshire and 34-6 to Manchester. The scorelines don't tell the full story though. With a small squad in their very first contact season and second ever tournament, they battled from first whistle to last against two of the strongest teams in the North, competing for every yard and never giving up. We're incredibly proud of their attitude, resilience and how far they've come already. The future is bright for these players.

The U19s followed in Game 3 of their four-game series against Yorkshire. After two hard-fought draws in Games 1 and 2, Yorkshire claimed this one 26-9, taking a 2-1 lead in the series. That leaves one final home game for our U19s in two weeks' time, with a place in the playoffs still to be decided.

A brilliant effort from every player, coach, volunteer and travelling family throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who continues to support these young athletes week in, week in, week out.

The U16s are up first with 12pm/1.30pm KOs, followed by U19s at 4pm.

REGULAR SEASON COMPLETE. PLAYOFFS SECURED!

Our U14 Rebels rounded off the regular season in style last Saturday, picking up three wins from three at Tournament 4.

36-7 vs Buccaneers
34-18 vs Steel
1-0 Walkover win vs Iron

Those results see the Rebels finish the regular season with an incredible 9-2 record, earning 2nd place in the division and booking their place in the BAFA National Playoffs.

For a programme in just its second season, this is a phenomenal achievement and we are incredibly proud.
The growth this team has shown over the last 12 months has been remarkable. Not just in the results, but in their confidence, resilience, teamwork and attitude.

A huge thank you goes to our players, coaches, volunteers and parents - your commitment continues to make this journey possible.

Now the focus shifts to one thing... PLAYOFF FOOTBALL.

🏈 U14 Tournament MVPs | Tournament 3 – Salford

As we head into our final regular season tournament this weekend, it's only right that we recognise the standout performances from our last trip out.

Our U14 Rebels travelled to Salford for Tournament 3 and came away with an impressive 2 wins from 3, moving to 6-2 on the season and putting themselves in a fantastic position heading into the final round.

The whole squad was outstanding. Every single Rebel showed incredible commitment, effort, and determination from the first snap to the last.
They never stopped competing, supported one another throughout the day, and produced performances they should all be proud of.

Offensive MVP – William Liddy
Will was the definition of a team-first player. A true Swiss Army knife on offence, he stepped up wherever he was needed, lining up at wide receiver, centre and running back. He finished the day with 2 touchdowns, while even making his mark on defence with a pass break-up. An outstanding all-round performance.

Defensive MVP – Peter Morgan
Peter was everywhere on defence. He made tackle after tackle, came up with game-changing pick 6s, and was a constant vocal leader for the unit throughout the tournament. His impact on the field and the energy he brought to the defence made him a deserving MVP.

Congratulations to Will, Peter, and every member of this U14 squad. The growth this team has shown this season has been incredible, and we're excited to see what they can achieve in the final tournament this weekend.

Games against Lancashire Buccs, Sheffield Steel and Sheffield Iron await them.. Time to leave it all on the field 🏈🔥

🏈 U16 Tournament MVPs | 30th May

Before our U19s took to the field, our U16s battled through two games in challenging conditions with a squad of just 10 players.

For a young team, with many players appearing in only their first or second contact football games, the determination, grit, and desire shown throughout the day was outstanding. Every player contributed with big moments and plays against experienced opposition, making us proud of the entire squad.

Overall MVP - Peter Morgan
Peter entered the tournament as a team captain, a role earned through his commitment and effort both at training and within the team. On game day, he once again led by example, setting the standard on both sides of the ball. His relentless effort, leadership, and all-round performance made him a deserving Overall MVP.

Offensive MVP - Gael Salayandia
Making his first contact start at quarterback, Gael showed impressive composure throughout the day. Calm, confident, and unfazed by the occasion, he helped guide the offence and keep the ball moving against tough opposition.

Defensive MVPs - Ryo Endo & Oisin Egan
A shared defensive award for two players who were outstanding throughout the tournament. Both Ryo and Oisin made their presence felt with big hits, crucial stops, and consistent defensive performances across both games.

Congratulations to all our MVPs, and to every player who represented the Giants with pride, effort, and determination throughout the day. The future is bright for this group 🏈

U19 MVPs vs Yorkshire Assassins - 30th May

A hard-fought 16-16 draw in Game 2 of the series saw both teams continue the battle, with plenty of standout performances across the field.

Overall MVP – Ellis Dudman
A constant source of stability and leadership throughout the game. Ellis leads by example every snap, doing whatever is needed for the team and setting the standard with his effort, attitude, and commitment.

Offensive MVP – Kody Giroux
A fantastic day on the ground from Kody, who ran the ball with purpose and intensity. His energy, desire, and relentless effort consistently lift and motivate those around him.

Defensive MVP – Matty Morgan
Matty stepped up to help lead and organise the defence, delivering a game-changing performance at linebacker. He was all over the field, making plays and impacting the game from start to finish.

Congratulations to all three players on their well-deserved awards!
