🌟🇬🇧 North East Dekstars x Team GB 🇬🇧🌟

The North East Dekstars are extremely proud to have some of our finest representing Team GB at The 2026 World Championships in Ostrava, Czechia. Our quartet will be facing off against the best in the world for the tournament that runs from 20th to 28th June.

Emma Dixon will be taking part in her 4th international tournament (2017, 2019, 2022), Caitlin Eastwood gets her first senior call up after representing Team GB U20 Women (2025) and Alex Browell makes her debut on the international stage. After four tournaments as a senior player (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017), our Chairwoman Joy Hirst take the role of Team Manager.

🌟 2025/26 Dekstars Awards Night 🌟

On Saturday night, the Dekstars celebrated the end of a long domestic season with the 2025/26 Awards Night. The winners were chosen with club-wide voting, along with the coaching team picking the club’s Most Improved player and Coaches Player Of The Year.

Congratulations to our winners, and to every Dekstar who played their part in the season. We’re still training every Tuesday night, 7:30-9pm at Walker Activity Dome so come along and get ready for the 2026/27 season!

🌟🏆 Ball Hockey UK Tier 2 🏆🌟

The North East Dekstars’ Tier 2 season comes to a close with a Semi-Final defeat by Nottingham Titans BHC.

After a closely fought game, the Titans took it 5-3. They will face Sheffield Steelers Ball Hockey in the final.

We’ll be celebrating our season soon with Awards Night, but attention turns to international affairs as we have multiple Dekstars representing Team GB in a number of tournaments. More to come soon!

🌟🏆 Ball Hockey UK Tier 2 Playoffs 🏆🌟

After a long season of hard work, it all comes down to this!

The Dekstars are headed to Skate Central for a Playoff Semi-Final battle with Nottingham Titans BHC.

Face off is at 9.20am on Saturday morning, with the winner advancing to a 4.30pm Tier 2 Playoff Final against
Sheffield Steelers Ball Hockey or Nottingham Hawks.

🏆 Ball Hockey UK Tier 2 Game Day 5 🏆

After a heavyweight matchup, we’ve split the games with Greasley Bears Ball Hockey Club, avenging a 4-3 defeat with a 9-4 victory.

The result sees us book our place at Tier 2 nationals next month!

It’s the final regular season Game Day of Ball Hockey UK Tier 2 at Skate Central and we’ll be facing off against familiar opponents in the form of Greasley Bears Ball Hockey Club.

Both games are in the early slot at 9:45 and 12:15, so come along and cheer us on!

The Dekstars are headed back North with another 2 wins on the board, courtesy of 10-2 and 6-1 scorelines against Nottingham Hawks

⭐️The 2026 Fantastic Fours Tournament has been officially completed and was another successful weekend of amazing ball hockey!

⭐️A huge well done to our two teams: Dekstars Blackout who made it to the Cup Quarterfinals and Dekstars True Blue who made it to the Plate Semifinals!

⭐️Thank you to all of the players and fans who came from all over the country for this year’s tournament, we can’t wait to see you again next year!
