January doesn’t have to be rushed. It can be about giving yourself time — to settle in, to reconnect, to build something that lasts.

This month, we’re offering January on the House — a free month of hot yoga when you commit to a 12-month membership, with no payment until 1 February.

It’s your time in a warm room, guided by supportive teachers, moving at your own pace. Time to show up without pressure and let real results unfold naturally.

✨ January is already underway — give yourself the time you deserve ✨

Just under a week now until our first silent Bikram practice.

A practice that cuts out the chaos of the dialogue and allows you to fully immerse yourself, finding true connection between your breath and the sensations of each posture. The awareness of each minute movement and adjustment in your practice.

With the dialogue reduced to the posture name, and led with nonverbal cues, this practice allows you the opportunity to receive more personal adjustments as we move through our 90 minutes.

Life is all about balance — on and off the mat. One posture that captures this beautifully is Balancing Stick in Bikram, or this Warrior III variation in vinyasa.

But thinking of this pose only as a balance is missing the magic. There’s so much strength, alignment, and mindful activation happening throughout the entire body to create that long, powerful line.

Every great posture starts with the setup.
Take a step forward — bigger than a casual stride — to shift your weight fully into the standing leg. This leg becomes your foundation: press evenly through the big toe and heel, lift through the arch, and engage the thigh to stabilize.

Draw the arms up by the ears to activate the shoulders, keeping them from collapsing as you tilt the torso forward. Keep your gaze ahead; the eyes lead the body. I like to imagine my arms being gently pulled forward from behind my head.

‼️ And don’t forget the lifting leg ‼️
Your back leg is just as active as the standing one. Lift through the kneecap, fire up the thigh, and keep that leg straight and strong. When you think you’re engaging enough… engage a little more. That full-body commitment is what creates that beautiful straight line over time.

And remember — it’s not about getting perfectly parallel. The hip hinge deepens with practice. What matters most is maintaining that strong, connected line from fingertips to toes.

Balance isn’t a destination — it’s a practice

This holiday season we will be spending sometime with family and loved ones all across the world so over the Christmas and New Year we will be taking a few days away from the studio.

We will also be offering a reduced timetable for the days around, but we will be back to our regular programme from the 2nd January so that you can flow into 2026 strong with your hot yoga practice.

We’re starting 2026 with a new style, a glow up shall we say ✨

As part of this we have a plethora of rental towels that are in fabulous condition and looking for new homes. You can get your hands on 1,2 or even 3 if you wanted to from the studio. Because let’s be honest we all know the challenge of drying laundry at this time of year.

Bringing Original Hot Yoga to the North East

I did my first Bikram practice in 2010 and it was hot, sweaty, uncomfortable...and I loved it. I had found a practice that allowed me to connect with myself and understand what I was truly capable of, pushing myself beyond what was comfortable.

Commonly referred to as Bikram yoga, or Hot 26, Hot Yoga Newcastle is proud to be the first yoga studio in the North East to offer these classes. A practice that can be done by anyone and everyone no matter what their level of experience. You don’t need to be strong, you don’t need to be flexible, you just need to have 90 minutes to dedicate to yourself, and we will do the rest.

Be prepared to work hard, sweat and surprise yourself.

I look forward to seeing you on the mat,
