The Battle Hill Judo Club was founded by Malcolm Young in 2003 , the club is run by a committee of members (details available on the web site) under the guidance of the instructor. The club has an atmosphere that most people find warm and friendly, and the club also participates in numerous activities including:
• Competitions – both local and national events

Ten of Battlehill Judo Club's students competed in the British judo Councils Open National Championships held in Kettering.
Layton Oliver competing in his first National championship won abronze medal in the 8-9 Year u24kg category.
Jacob Pentolfe won two from three contests in the 8 to 9 year u34kg event, to secure a bronze medal.
Destiny Robinson won 2 contests in the 10-12 year u36kg group to gain a bronze medal, whilst Finley Lannen won all of his contests to secure his third consecutive British Title.
Michal Szydlo and Arthur Lloyd competed in the u46 group, but did not make it to the final stage.
We had three boys in the 13 to 15 year u50, u55, and u60kg categories. Joseph Sanderson suffered only a single defeat to return with a bronze medal, whilst Oscar Robinson and Karol Szydlo both gave good performances but did not reach the medals.
Jack Hale Entered the Senior +100kg category, where he was undefeated to secure the clubs second National Title of the day.
An excellent result from this regular annual event, well done to all competitors.
