Having something relatively light, non irritating on the intestines, high GI and in protein is a good balanced pre workout meal.

Most of us cannot stomach a heavy meal before training so eating something 1-2 hours before a session is recommended. Again as with most things this is depending on you and your body! Some people will need 3 hours before some people can eat 30mins before a session. Plan ahead and experiment with meal timings until you find the best time for you.

Not quite the same.
👆🏻
Just highlighting some marketing tactics for a regular flapjack. They’ve stuck the word ‘breakfast’ on it (cropped out) so you will now think flapjacks are a great alternative for a meal.
Will it fill you up? Probably....for 5mins.
More satiating option- Oats
Cheapest option - Oats
More health benefits- Oats

Even better- grab some oats, follow instructions (takes approx 2mins to cook) pair it with a protein source (e.g Yogurt, eggs, whey, vegan protein powder) and voila you have a better, healthier meal then a regular flapjack with the word ‘breakfast’ on it.

Correct there is the same amount of oats in each product but the flapjack also includes the following: Wholegrain Rolled Oat Flakes (34%),
Wholegrain Oat Flour (14%),
Golden Syrup,
Oligofructose,
Brown Sugar,
Cereal Crisps (Rice Flour, Oat Flour (1%), Sugar, Calcium Carbonate, Barley Malt Extract),
Sunflower Oil,
Emulsifiers (Glycerol, Soya Lecithin),
Dried Strawberries (1.5%),
Dried Cranberries (1.5%),
Modified Starch,
Ground Almond Flour,
Skimmed Milk Powder,
Antioxidant (Tocopherol Rich Extract),
Raising Agent (Sodium Bicarbonate),
Calcium Carbonate,
Salt,
Natural Berry Flavouring with other Natural Flavourings

So no, not quite the same

HEALTH
Is more than what you eat
Is more than how much you exercise
Is more than just drinking extra water

There are so many aspects in life that effect our overall health, our focus shouldn’t be just to eat and drink healthier (yes this is extremely important) but there is a bigger picture.

What about your mental health? Do you beat yourself up, say negative things about yourself? Are you able to socialise? Are you mentally pushed, are you learning new things? How about your finances, how healthy is your bank balance, is this causing you stress? What about emotional health or do you lack in this area? What effects these things, what makes it worse, what makes it better?

Some people view health as eating celery and sitting on a exercise bike for 4 hours. That being healthy means you need to live a strict life, that you can’t enjoy socialising, that it’s going to ruin your bank balance, that you have to look a certain way to enter a gym, that you need to cut out all carbs to lose fat or that other people don’t desire junk food like you do.
Don’t fall into this trap!
