We are taking the BAFA off-season to celebrate our award winners from 2025

Despite being only able to make half 🚒 of the 2025 BAFA Game Days (9 games of 16), our Blackhawks 2025 Defensive MVP Taylor Walton had a team-leading 9 INTs, an impressive 10 PBUs, 1 sack, 1 TFL and 33 tackles

He also capably deputised as QB2 at short notice for GD1 (7TD / 0 INTs), and ended the BAFA season with Offensive stats of 8 passing TDs and 3 receiving TDs

We are taking the BAFA off-season to celebrate our award winners from 2025

The BAFA campaign saw 2 WRs in close and friendly competition for the team’s Offensive accolades, with the battle for TD lead reaching the final day of the campaign

Blackhawks Offensive MVP may have been pipped by 1 – with 18 TDs in total (17 receiving, 1 rushing) – he clinched the overall Offensive points battle with 6 XP1s and 6 XP2s

He also contributed ably on Defence as well as a rotational player - claiming 1 Pick 6, 5 PBUs, 1 sack and 4 tackles

As we have just lauded our Winter League GD1 MVPs, and as we approach our 2026 awards next month - now is a good* time to celebrate our 2025 season award winners.

In a campaign where the team fell just short of making the BAFA National League (commenced 2026), the biggest contributor to the team's successes was the man mountain WR

He led the team in BAFA with 19 Receiving Touchdowns, and contributed a further 12 points on XPs (2x XP1 and 5x XP2). And then a multitude more in the team's Winter League, Flagging New Year and Flagging Iron Man campaigns

The team was often light on numbers, and he demonstrated his footballing prowess on Defence as well - with 4 PBUs, 1 TFL and 6 tackles in the BAFA season

It will be no surprise if he takes the prize again in 2026 (to be announced late October)

GB Women narrowly missed out in the first round of Olympic qualification this month – whereas our sights have turned towards the development league indoors in Scotland over winter. There are places for all in the sport, from elite athletes to social and recreational players

The Blackhawks started their 2026-27 Winter League campaign off with a bang, going 5-0 and putting over 200 points on the board in the process.

The Offence was clinical and ruthless throughout the day – it took only one half for the Defence to join in, with no Defensive points conceded after the first half of a tight and tense game against 2026 BAFA Division 1 National Champions

Both Hawks sides will be in action in 2 weekends’ time – new players are always welcome at training if you are interested in giving something new a try.
