NCJ Napoli vs Wallsend Yellows – U9 Match Report Opening day of the season for Napoli, and the boys absolutely delivered.

They played with a high press, high intensity, and relentless work rate from the first whistle to the last.All the hard work over the summer paid off — they never ran out of steam, dug deep when under pressure, and took their chances when they came.

They’ve set the tone and benchmark for the effort and intensity needed throughout Cycle 1 and the season ahead. Every parent is incredibly proud of them.

Credit to Wallsend Yellows, who never gave up and were a credit to their coaches and parents.

⭐ Player Highlights

Lucas — Immense between the sticks today. Pulled off 3–4 one‑on‑one saves, stopped Wallsend from building momentum, and produced a brilliant stick save from the penalty spot. His trademark defence‑to‑attack passing was on show all game.

Tommy — The wall at the back. Nothing got past him. He sniffed out every attack and topped it off with a well‑taken finish. Fantastic performance.

Jermaine — A true box‑to‑box display. Relentless in defence and ruthless in attack, grabbing a superb hat‑trick. Worked tirelessly and drove the team forward. MOTM performance.

Zyren — Showed brilliant defensive qualities, putting his body on the line all game. Nothing got past him. A hardworking and disciplined performance on the wing.

Bradley — Another hardworking shift. Stood up to every Wallsend attack and made life difficult for their forwards from start to finish

Freddie — Weaved, battled, and worked tirelessly up top. Grabbed a well‑deserved goal after constant pressing and running. Got off some great shots too, with the Wallsend keeper making strong saves.

Quinn — As the first line of defence, he set the tone with his intensity, constantly disrupting Wallsend’s attempts to play out from the back. Started the scoring with a brilliant finish, dragging the ball through the defence and toe‑poking it into the corner.

A perfect performance from the boys on a very windy day! 🌪️🖤🤍

The attitude was spot on from the very first whistle, with Noah, George and Axl setting the tempo and getting Inter off to a flying start, bagging goals straight from the off! 🙌🏻🔥

Harry was absolutely outstanding at the back, mopping up everything that came his way and helping keep things under control. And a huge shoutout to GK Harrison, who even got himself on the scoresheet with an outstanding goal! 🧤⚽️👏🏻

Changes were made and Quinn, Teddy and Otis came on and kept the momentum going, playing some seriously slick football and never dropping the intensity.

👏🏻 Big shoutout to Gosforth Bohemian — they played some great football at times today and their keeper pulled off some fabulous saves to keep them in it.
