U9 Juve (Saturday) vs U9 Inter (Saturday)

Another brilliant morning of football, with both teams committed to playing the right way from the first whistle.
Inter started brightly, showing patience in possession and playing through the lines. Quinn stretched the pitch brilliantly and opened the scoring after some excellent team play.

Juve responded with a clever set-piece routine that caught Inter napping, and a composed finish brought them right back into the game.
The match continued at a high tempo with chances at both ends, but Inter edged ahead to lead 4-2 at the break.

The second quarter was evenly contested, with both sides enjoying spells of possession and producing some excellent football.

Harry and Harrison kept things really tight at the back, working brilliantly together to frustrate Juve's attacks. Inter added a couple more goals, but Juve continued to battle and hit back themselves, making it a fantastic quarter for the neutrals.

Juve flew out in the final quarter, putting Inter under real pressure and scoring several quick goals with no reply. Inter showed great character to regroup.
Noah settled things down at the back before feeding Teddy, who was simply unplayable today.

George and Otis broke up play brilliantly in midfield, starting countless counter-attacks as Inter returned to their passing football.
Smart movement and clinical finishing, often creating 3v1 situations, helped Inter pull away once again.

A superb game played in the right spirit, with Inter deservedly coming out on top. Massive credit to both teams for producing an entertaining match full of quality football.

Great day at Prudhoe for the lads.

We had a round robin with City U8 Sparta and Prudhoe Castle.

The first game was the City derby. Both sets of lads tried to play great football, and it was brilliant to watch. Inter started very quickly and nabbed an early goal, but Sparta settled into the game well with some lovely play to bring it level.
Wilf and Harrison pulled off some great saves, and the lads went back and forth, scoring some fantastic goals. In the end, Sparta just edged it, and it was fully deserved. A great game from both teams.

In the second game, Inter came out very dominant and quick, dictating the game from the back, driving into space and boxing Prudhoe in before taking the lead.
Prudhoe produced some great football but couldn’t break Inter down. The lads stood firm, kept the ball well and grafted hard. In the last minute of the game, Inter got caught short and Prudhoe scored a great equaliser on the break.
Another great game by both teams.

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning at Prudhoe.

MOTM ~ The whole team 💪💪💪

Huge well done to both Lazio and Atalanta today. Two newly formed squads from our recent annual trials who have already shown incredible commitment, teamwork, and passion.

Over the last few weeks, they’ve been grafting on the training ground, learning each other’s strengths, building confidence, and growing as teams. Today, all that hard work paid off as they stepped into their first tournament together… and absolutely smashed it.

Both teams reaching their respective finals is a massive achievement. Lazio came out eventual winners, but honestly, we couldn’t be prouder of every single player in both squads. The effort, the attitude, the smiles, they represented themselves, their teammates, and their parents/guardians brilliantly.

This is just the beginning. Onwards and upwards as they head into their upcoming seasons — exciting times ahead for these young stars.

🌟 Match Update: Wideopen Comets vs NCJ Napoli U9s

A brilliant opportunity for the lads to get another game under their belt against quality opposition. A high‑scoring affair for both sides, packed with genuine moments of quality — clever passages of play, well‑worked team goals, and plenty of excitement from start to finish. A game played in fantastic spirit, with every player a real credit to their clubs and their parents/guardians.

🔵 NCJ Napoli Player Highlights

- Lucas — Another strong display between the sticks. Pulled off several excellent saves, including a superb tip around the post. Continues to give the team a great option when transitioning from defence to attack.

- Tommy — WOW WOW WOW. A standout performance. Strong in the tackle, relentless with forward runs, and bagged himself a hat‑trick. One goal in particular — a top‑corner screamer after driving forward from a kick‑in — was sensational. Fully deserved MOTM.

- Bradley — Another high‑energy, box‑to‑box shift. Covered every blade of grass and took his chance well to get himself on the scoresheet.

- Zyren — Busy, hard‑working, and determined throughout. Made Wideopen work for everything and capped it off with an excellent finish.

- Freddie — Used his quick feet brilliantly, weaving through tight spaces and creating several chances for teammates. Not on the scoresheet tonight, but heavily involved in the attacking play.

- Jermaine — Started a little slower by his own high standards but grew into the game superbly. Broke up play, provided attacking outlets, and drove the team forward. Rounded off a strong performance with a well‑taken goal.

- Quinn — Another busy, pressing performance. Forced errors all night and ran the channels brilliantly. Added another hat‑trick to his tally, continuing his fine form. His third — a strike from the corner of the box — was a beauty.

Well done to our Milan and Juve lads 👏🏼

A great day for our U9 Milan and Juve who were invited into Sunderland AFC for games.

The sides played a large number of mini games and came away with some very impressive performances.

Great effort from the lads and as always thanks to Sunderland for hosting us.

Congratulations to our u9 Milan who came away as champions of the Walbottle tournament today. The lads were unbeaten all day, playing brilliant football and winning a tightly contested final. They should all be proud of themselves!

⚽ Washington Navy Inter vs NCJ Napoli – U9 Friendly

Another brilliant run‑out for the lads against real quality opposition. The goals kept flowing, the energy stayed high, and the boys continued to grow together. Learning each other’s styles, strengths, and quirks with every minute played.

With the blazing heat turning this into a four‑quarter battle, both teams went toe‑to‑toe all evening. Physical, fast, fearless… exactly what you want from a summer friendly.

⭐ Player Highlights

- Lucas — Another super shift between the sticks. Confident hands, sharp reactions, and his distribution was spot‑on, turning defence into attack in an instant.

- Tommy — Dominant at the back once again. Eats up ground, times his tackles perfectly, and those driving runs from defence caused chaos for Inter.

- Bradley — Strong, versatile, and reliable wherever he’s asked to play. Powerful down the wing and used his athleticism brilliantly when dropping into defensive duties.

- Zyren — Relentless. Pressed, tackled, dribbled, and made their left side work for absolutely everything. Rounded off his performance with two cracking goals. A real MOTM Performance 🏆

- Freddie — Quick feet, clever movement, and impossible to pin down. His trickery caused problems all evening, and he topped it off with a tidy finish.

- Jermaine — The engine of the team. Worked tirelessly in both directions, covered every blade of grass, and slotted into multiple positions without missing a beat.

- Quinn — Another hat‑trick for the lad! Thriving off Napoli’s direct style, always in the right place at the right time, and ruthless when the chances came.

🔵 Final Thoughts

The lads fell just short of the win, but they should be buzzing with pride. Every game they look stronger — individually, as teammates, and as a connected unit. They’re building something special, and tonight was another step forward.

On to the next friendly, back to the training ground, and back to growing together. Napoli are flying.

A fiesty derby‑day friendly tonight in training against Inter & Napoli, and the lads absolutely embraced it.
Tempo was high, tackles were committed, and the football was excellent across the pitch. Proper edge, proper energy, and a real fiesty feel as everyone got stuck in and enjoyed the game together. A brilliant run‑out for the whole group.

NCJ Napoli vs. Wideopen Rockets

Another great evening of football from both sides!

It was a valuable opportunity for the lads to play their first match together as a full team and build understanding ahead of the new season.

The game was played over four quarters, with Napoli starting brightly and pressing well. Quinn opened the scoring before both teams continued to create chances in an entertaining first half.

Bradley then finished well to restore Napoli's lead at 2–1, while Tommy worked tirelessly at the back and Lucas made some excellent saves to keep Wideopen at bay. Napoli also earned a free kick, with Quinn's powerful effort forcing the keeper into a superb full-length save to push it around the post.

The second half saw Napoli continue to attack with purpose. Zyren, Jermaine and Bradley kept Wideopen under constant pressure with some excellent attacking play, while also making outstanding tackles to stop the counter-attacking threat. Napoli won another free kick, and Jermaine came agonisingly close with a superb strike that crashed against the crossbar.

Freddie also impressed with his tireless work rate, strong challenges and quality passing.

A brilliant through ball from Jermaine found Quinn, who beat his defender and finished superbly to complete his hat-trick and Napoli's fourth goal.

Wideopen kept battling and finished strongly, scoring two fantastic goals to take the win.

Another excellent run-out for Napoli as they continue preparing for the new season with more friendlies and tournaments ahead.
