Alec Penstone has now sadly passed away at the age of 101.

He served aboard HMS Campania during the Arctic Convoys and D Day, risking everything for this country when Britain needed him most.

In one of his final interviews, he spoke about how he no longer recognised the Britain he fought for. Whether you agree with him or not, it's hard to ignore the words of a man who witnessed war, sacrifice and the rebuilding of our nation firsthand.
