Lancaster 2026!
Last week we attended the KUGB's summer school. A formidable week of training with fantastic instructors. A great opportunity to catch up with karate friends too!
Huge thanks to the KUGB (Karate Union of Great Britain) for making it happen and to the instructors for their time and knowledge.
We look forward to come back next year!

Saturday Sessions!

We will have additional training for 1st Kyu in preparation for their Dan Grade on the next two Saturdays (8th and 15th of August).

9am - 10am, £5 per session. Come warmed up, and please notify your club instructor.

Training is on again this Saturday for 1st Kyu, in preparation for their Dan grade, led by sensei Grant and sensei Claire.

If you want to attend from another club, please ensure that you notify your club instructor.

9am to 10am, £5.

As discussed, extra training sessions have been confirmed for above dates, for 1st kyus only (brown 2 white stripes).

These sessions will concentrate on the 1st dan grading syllabus.

Further session will be planned pending instructor availability.

Please endeavour to attend all additional sessions.

If possible, please pay mat fees on the Thursday before & ensure students are warmed up before each class to save a bit of time.

Congratulation again to our students who graded two weeks ago, and Rafan who graded at Kokoro karate club!

Keep up the hard work. Next grading will take place on Tuesday the 22nd of September. Looking forward to see you there!

Many thanks to Kokoro Karate Club for hosting a great class yesterday with sensei F. Brennan, focusing on Gojushiho Sho in great details, covering both kata and Bunkai.
Great to see everyone there, and congratulation to those who graded afterward!

- IMPORTANT -

Please note that there will be NO class on Tuesday the 14th of July, as the room is being used for an event.

Instead the class will take place the following day, Wednesday the 15th (Same time). Thursday resume as normal.

What a lovely way to spend our Sunday!

Very grateful to Kokoro Karate Club for organizing and hosting their annual Karate on the Beach event, this year raising funds for the KUGB Charity for 2026/27 Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Support Group.

Thank you to Sensei Gemma and Sensei Dylan for leading the sessions, and to all the helpers who made the event possible.

Well done to Jonathan and James for representing the club in yesterday's Sunderland Karate Championship 2026!

Congratulations Jonathan for getting bronze in senior kumite, the standard was very high as always.
