Rajadamnern Stadium has announced a new judging policy requiring officials to determine a winner in every round under the criteria set by Thailand’s Boxing Act.

The policy will apply to all events held at Rajadamnern Stadium seven days a week starting June 1.

Under the new round-by-round scoring criteria, judges will prioritize the following factors:

1. The fighter who lands more Muay Thai weapons effectively.
2. The fighter who lands more powerful, damaging and clearly visible strikes.
3. The fighter who causes greater visible damage to the opponent.

If no clear winner can be determined from the first three criteria, judges will then consider:

4. Aggression and forward pressure.
5. Superior offensive and defensive technique, including evasion and defense.
6. Fewer rule violations.

The announcement also clarified the application of the standing count rule. An eight-count will only be issued when any part of a fighter’s body, other than the feet, touches the canvas for more than one second before the referee begins counting.

The regulations will officially take effect on Monday, June 1.
