Junes Fish Of the Month Winner Dylan called into the shop last night to pick up his new HTO Lure Game Rod worth £99.99 that he won just by catching a fish on a lure purchased from our shop 😁😁

The best way to get proper advice from a tackle shop…

Know what the casting weight of your rod is. I hear it all the time, what lure do I need to catch a certain fish. The first question I have back is what casting weight is your rod. It would surprise you how many don’t know this. Below is a photo of the information on a rod, this one is 6-30g. 8ft or 9ft isn’t enough information to go on as theirs so many different casting weights in that length of rod.

I could sell you certain lures for the species your after but they could be to heavy or to light for the rod your using. There was a customer yesterday picking up 21g metals for a 14ft beach caster. I’d rather be honest, turn away the sale and that customer not waste their money on lures that they won’t benefit from buying.

If you’re calling into us and not sure how to find the information on the rod, bring the rod in with you. I prefer this as I’m then able to give you the right advice than just trying to make as much money as possible 😁😁
