Thank you so much to everyone who came to yesterdays Newmarket RoR Show at NHRM as part of our Newmarket Open Weekend celebrations.
Firstly I wanted to say to all of you how proud I am of you, you all turned your horses out beautifully, they looked incredible.
Secondly well done to all of you as the wind was pretty challenging but they all did their cope in very strong gusty weather.
You showcased thoroughbreds to the public in such sterling fashion I am just so happy for you all.

Thank you also to our extremely generous sponsors LG Bloodstock Shipping, Newmarket Equine Hospital and Spillers horse feeds for which without them I couldn't get the beautiful rosettes and all the prizes for everyone. I hope you all like your prizes and please do send me photos of you wearing/using them I know they'd love to see!

I have 2 massive memory cards from the other photographer Chris, which I need to process which I will do in the coming days asap (I am going on holiday first thing Tuesday but will take them with me to do while I lay in the sun having some rest and relaxation)

I will do a list of placings tomorrow! and upload more photos of winners and runners up when I can

All systems go for tomorrows show; I hope you're excited!
Weather looks dry and bright, if not a little windy.

Reminder, you can arrive from 8.30am (no earlier please), warm up is from 9am, Class 1 starts at 10.30am.

Judges/Stewards/Secretary/Volunteers lunch break is from 12-1pm

Class 2 starts at 1pm (approx.) but no earlier. Class 3 will start a little after Class 2 finishes. We will give time for those who have done Class 2 amateur ridden to take tack off and give them a groom before going in for Class 3..

I want as least stressful day for both you and I, so will allow time without too much rushing around.

Any issues please ring my mobile, it's on the end of the email I sent to all competitors. I won't be monitoring this page for comments or messages to it tomorrow so please ring me, don't message!

Good morning Show Competitors entered in the Newmarket RoR Show in a couple of weeks, on Saturday 19th September.

I've emailed you all with important information about the show, such as the gate code, address details, rules reminders and other important information so please do check your inbox and read the email!

There are a couple of spaces that have popped up from cancellations so if people still wanted to take part, please do check the horse monkey link if you fancy still taking part.

Thank you so so much for everyone who braved today’s downpours to come to our lessons with David Britnell Eventing, you all did so well and what brilliant teaching from David.
I am thoroughly impressed and from the feedback I got, you all were too!

Also so grateful to Equine Products UK Ltd (South East region) who joined us and who kindly gave goodie bags to all who entered, how incredibly generous thank you so much!

Once David gets home and dries off he and I are going to get some more dates in the diary for the rest of the year and into 2027 so please to keep an eye on the page!

For those of you competing but have friends or family that want to come and watch you, please do take a note of the attached post from NHRM about coming to watch (cars will not be allowed to follow in lorries or trailer, we do not have space to park them).

Tickets are £5 to attend, gates open at 10am, 30 minutes before class 1 starts.

There should be a coffee and tea wagon attending to provide drinks and refreshments and there is the onsite restaurant and bakery for food

The Museum is welcoming back the Retraining of Racehorses annual show to the Peter O’Sullevan Arena.

The event will feature the RoR Tattersalls Amateur Ridden Show Series, Open In Hand Qualifier classes and an unaffiliated Novice Ridden Retrained Thoroughbred Racehorse class.

🕙 Time: 10.30am to 3.30pm
📍 Location: Peter O’Sullevan Arena, National Horseracing Museum
🎟️ Entry: Adults £5, children £3, under 3s free

Huge Congratulations to Newmarket based and nearby riders who did so incredibly well at the RoR National Championships last week!

Thea Geake and American Gerry were crowned RoR Novice Ridden Champions! 🏆 and were Reserve Champions in the RoR Ridden Showing Series Supreme Final.

Emily Simpson and Vancouverite were crowned RoR Challenge Series Champions! 🏆

Debbie Hodge- Phillips Barracuda Boy was crowned In Hand Veterans Champions 🏆 and were Reserve In-Hand Show Series Supreme.

Local rider Trudie Tideswell and Theydon Spirit were runners up in the Amateur Ridden Show Series Championship also.

I know there were others who came in the top 10 of the championship finals so please do let me know how you did and please do share your photos as I love seeing how you all did.

I am incredibly proud of all of you, a massive well done!!!
