A quick update on our works. A big thank you to P&B flooring, what a difference the new flooring makes. Tables and chairs are back in situ and yes the new TV is up 👏👏 Thank you Tim. Just a few jobs to complete when Mark L gets back from his stint in the Foreign Legion 😉. When the season closes and the good weather is here to stay we can move to painting the outside of The Pavilion and laying the additional paved area. Thank you to the Rugby members for their continued support and assistance during these works.

The Lounge transformation has started. The walls have had a couple of coats of paint, the ceiling is being repaired ready for painting. The new TV is soon to be installed. And once the painting is finished the new floor can be laid. It is all coming together. Big thanks to Mark L

Wow just wow. A big shout out to Mark and his Team at Cambridge Build https://cambsbuild.co.uk what a fantastic job they have done converting our awkward corner into the new ladies toilets. We would 100% recommend to anyone needing a competent friendly local builder. Also thank you Liam http://pandbflooring.co.uk/ and his lads for our new flooring. Finally our own Mark L with his painting skills. Next on the Agenda is The Lounge ...... Further photos to follow.

A quick update. We are past the half way stage. The new ladies toilet flooring is down thanks to P&B Flooring. An outside tap is being connected. The fixtures are due to be connected later in the week. Once the toilets are finished we move on to the Lounge redecoration. We have purchased a new 65" TV which is waiting to be mounted. The walls are being prepped ready for painting. It is all finally coming together.

After what appears to be the longest drum roll in history we are pleased to share work has started on the 2 new ladies toilets. With 2 girls football teams and 2 girls rugby teams it became apparent one ladies loo was no longer sufficient. Unfortunately the ladies changing room which we have Building regs for, will have to be delayed but is still very much a focus for the NSDA. Today as I looked across the pitches I thought how lucky we are to have one of the best sports fields in Newmarket. A bit of sun, for those not familiar it is that yellow thing in the sky, makes such a difference. Good luck to everyone playing rugby at Scaltback this weekend.

On Monday we hosted our first "Pop up Police Surgery" and it was lovely to meet PC Chapman and Councillor Yarrow. Discussions included keeping our property safe and local crime. For those who have had previous concerns regarding the emergency helicopter landing on our playing fields and the Paramedics being unable to open our gates, I can confirm we have now logged our security details and emergency phone numbers via the police to a secure central data base which can be accessed by all the emergency services.
Finally if you dont already, we recommend you follow Forest Heath Police on Facebook.

The Newmarket Sports Development Association (NSDA) was established in 1971 to facilitate sport and recreation development in the Newmarket area, and one of the co-founders was Hazel Rolfe who is still active within the NSDA and holds the position of President. Hazel has over the years been a very passionate sporting provision campaigner.
The NSDA registered as a charity in 2024 and as part of the registration process embarked on widening the facility offering to also include community use, not just sport. In addition to being used as a Polling station, the NSDA also welcomed Puzzle Place, Newmarket Social and Sport Association and will be hosting a pop-up police surgery.
As the NSDA continues to improve their facilities we are very grateful for Hazels kind donation of £1,000 which has enabled the NSDA to purchase an adult/child defibrillator, a very important piece of equipment, which will be available to all users and members should the need arise.
