On Sunday the boys lined up in what I would call their ‘usual positions’, ones which really paid dividends up until Christmas, and the difference was immense.

Right from the kick off the boys looked solid and were 1:0 up in the first minute with a superb free kick from Arthur, who went on to score 4 goals!

It was a superb overall performance, albeit a feisty one at the end when one if our team was kicked in the face, then had the ball kicked at him with force while down on the ground. Frustration from the Mulbarton player who received a yellow card - but could have been a red.

We can’t win the league now, but it was good to see the team play so well and with such confidence. Well done boys. 👏👏👏

The three hour plus round trip to Aylsham last Sunday was a frustrating affair ending in a disappointing loss for us, the biggest of the season. To be fair, they played good, strong football but interspersed with bad language, arm pulling, shirt pulling (see photo) and some tough to take refereeing decisions (on both sides). One of our players has been injured all week after being stamped on after just 3 minutes on the pitch. Enough said, that’s football I suppose.

🌨️ On a bitterly cold, wet Sunday in Newmarket, we faced a Bury Town team who hadn’t got a point all season. As the snow started to fall, we witnessed a disappointing display which I find difficult to put into words, so I won’t.

💪🏻 We must be more clinical in front of goal. A big game next week against Aylsham. Lets rest and focus this week and start winning again next week.

Hard to put yesterdays match into words as we were so dominant that it feels like a loss. We played some good football in a somewhat bad tempered game. We had chance after chance with one on one’s with the goalkeeper, but some excellent keeping and not so clinical finishing meant it took a long time for Luke to make it 0:1 to us.

Some sloppy defending and a scrappy goal at the very end cost us 2 points and the game finished 1:1.

We remain 3rd in the table, 2 points behind leaders Needham Market still having played 4 games less than them. t’s still very tight at the top!

A good crowd at the NYO Stadium yesterday witnessed a cracking game of football with four more goals scored and none conceded. That means we have scored 12 goals in the past 3 games and conceded none. That’s impressive.

The team looked very tight from the start and played some good passing football. Very tight, very accurate and great to watch. We had a large bench and changes in personnel after half time made no difference to the excellent football being played. Everyone did a good shift.

A good turnout yesterday morning on a bitterly cold and wet Sunday saw us beat Bury Town 6:0 away from home.

The first 20 minutes or so were a little ragged with some players playing in their new positions for only the second time. However, two great goals from Max Crump put us 2:0 up and we never looked back.

A change of personnel at 1/2 time brought in fresh legs to give us a 6:0 win. A great goal from Max Ellis probably the pick of the bunch!

Congratulations to Newmarket who are through to round 4 of The Presidents Cup after winning on Sunday January 18, 2026.

It was a very tight game with the two local Suffolk rivals both playing some good football. It was a great game to blow away the cobwebs with Newmarket not having played since well before Christmas. Two great goals from Max E. and a sublime free kick from Oz gave us a deserved win.

⚽️ Newmarket Town U15 EJA 3:2 Needham Market U15 EJA ✅

🏆 Eastern Junior Alliance U15 Black League

An exciting and closely fought battle between two good teams at the NYO Stadium today, which despite some strong pressure deep into injury time meant we came away with another win and 3 valuable points keeping us firmly in second place in the league.

Going down to a Needham goal against the run of play, the boys battled hard and pulled it back to 1:1 with a goal from Arthur. Then a goal from Teddy followed by a penalty from Oz made it 3:1 and put us in a commanding position to take all 3 points. However, Needham pulled one back to make it 3:2 with a fine strike. This left us biting our nails for the last few minutes of the 80.

As the clock hit 80 minutes, somehow, 86 minutes and 30 seconds came and went before we could breathe a sigh of relief and the win was ours.

Well done boys and coaches, a great game of football. 😊👏
