On Sunday morning, myself and a group of friends gathered on a chilly Brighton beach with smiles on our faces and an air of expectancy. Something wonderful was going to happen.

Supported by friends and family, 20 of us took to the water. We swam with determination and purpose, we were doing this to show our love for our friend Adrian and his family who are going through the most difficult of times living with MND.

An hour or so later, it was done. Weeks of fundraising, planning, training and preparation in our wake and our efforts were not in vain. Together we had raised more than our final target, £12,500 (£13,401 and counting) for the MNDA. An amazing amount of money to benefit others in the future.

So the biggest most heart felt thank you to all of the swimmers, the supporters, the donors, to Mat & Jo and the life guards from Brighton Seafront Office for keeping us safe and to the MNDA volunteers who came along to lend their suport. Most of all, thank you to Adrian Henry for allowing us to complete this event in his name. We all send our love to you brother.

Create a Bicycle Awareness Course for car drivers causing danger to cyclists

Car drivers caught speeding are offered the chance to attend a speed awareness course that lasts approximately 3 hours in order to qualify for a reduced speeding fine. I believe a similar Bicycle Awareness Course for car drivers found guilty of causing danger to cyclists should also be created.

Because the recent changes to the Highway Code advising car drivers they should ensure there is a 1.5 metre gap when they pass a cyclist has not informed enough car drivers
