Yesterday the Team competed at the Isle of Wight Car Club Weaver Brothers Ltd island stages 2026, The Day started of cold and wet and this didn’t let off with it progressively getting worse and worse as the day went on.

Stage1 was difficult with finding a fine line between putting in a competitive time or ending up in the ditches of the tight and narrow roads through Havenstreet, Dean set a time of 3:28 with Wayne just 2 seconds behind both getting a clean stage in but Andy and Kev both got held up due to a car crashing and blocking the end of the stage due to this they were both given a nominal time of 3:58.

Stage 2 Dean and Robbie were having intercom issues Dean told Robbie “you’re going to have to shout!”(not what you need when travelling at speed in a rally stage) but they didn’t let it stop them knocking 9 seconds off not bad when you can’t hear clearly where your going! Kev wasn’t holding back either, so much so getting the mini fully airborne over the railway bridge he dislodged his distributor cap causing a missfire through the rest of the stage.

Stage 5 by this point the rain was really pouring down making it really difficult conditions probably some of the worst the team have come across with standing water in several places across the stage Dean did not let this stop him with him setting joint 3rd fastest time of 3:26 just 6 seconds of the fastest time from that stage set by Will Nicholls and Nick Broom. Wayne and Chris had a very close near miss with a bridge due to excessive standing water (and Wayne’s lead right foot) causing the es**rt to aqua plain towards a very solid bridge wall, to say we nearly S #*t ourselves is an understatement luckily the car straighten up just in time to cross the bridge (it reminded us of a true legend Ari Vatanens near miss the at 1983 Manx International) here is a link if you haven’t see it there is a link in the comments. Andy and Kev had several hold ups due to a number of cars crashing out along the stage with the remaining 3 stages being cancelled due to a blocked drain. This was the right decision as safety is priority and with the amount of standing water it was only a matter of time before another accident.

Dean and Robbie 5th overall 2nd in class
Wayne and Chris 8th overall 1st in class
Andy and Harry 24th overall 9th in class
Kev and katrin 33rd overall 3rd in class
