What an incredible performance this evening at our Arena League 1st round gala. We welcomed some new starters to the line up, we welcomed back some old friends and the full team swam their way to some fantastic times and places.

The atmosphere was electric and what a wonderful presence in the spectator gallery too… your energy and spirit was infectious.

Thank you to our coaching team, our team managers and our officials you were all fantastic and thank you to Torfaen Dolphins for hosting.

It goes without saying as a team we rose to the challenge and we hope each and every swimmer is proud of their efforts tonight..
Here’s to round 2 and showing the league what we can do!

Well done all 🤩

*Apologies I didn’t quite capture everyone, but I will be sure to snap some more at the next round 👍🏻

⭐️⭐️As our new season gets underway, all of our incredible swimmers are in full swing in training and getting prepared for the 1st competition.

We are excited to announce the selection of two of our swimmers onto the Swim Wales Performance Foundation Squad.

Congratulations to Nina and Evie on your second year of selection. This exciting opportunity gives our swimmers exposure to new ideas, new coaching, workshops, and new swimmers who all share a common goal, to be the best swimmer they can be.

The training days offer workshops on anti-doping, pre and post pool routines, strength and conditioning, mindset strategies, goal setting and much more. The hard work, commitment, dedication and resilience these two swimmers have shown in the last season was the fundamental key to their selection into this squad.

Both swimmers are consistently in the top 3 in Wales for their age group across multiple events, which again is an achievement in itself. The selection times are attached so if you feel as a swimmer you would like to aspire to this level, you can see where you are now and where you need to get to? Always remember your coach is at the ready to discuss any goals you might have to help.

As well as this Evie has been selected this year to represent South East Wales at the inter- county championships in Sheffield next weekend.

We wish both girls the most incredible success and hope they understand what inspirational role models they are for our swimmers. If ever you have questions, please feel free to reach out and ask. Be inquisitive, be bold, be brave this season and unlock your potential.

We believe in all our swimmers and let’s see what this season brings… good luck ladies in your journey in the Welsh Squad programme, we are all very proud of you and can’t wait to see our team grow year on year 🤩

Day 5… The final day and it did not disappoint!🤩

We had;
Team of 18 swimmers
Finalists of 11 swimmers
Medalists of 4 swimmers

The true effort each and every swimmer has put into this summer championships is incredible. They have worked so hard and this is only an absolute reflection of their efforts to turn up to training, put in the technical skill and the mileage, as well as say no to a million things so they can train.

We as coaches know only too well the sacrifices your athletes make to take part in this sport. It requires so much from them physically, mentally and emotionally, when you get a PB, achieve a new skill, make a final or even achieve a medal, there is no greater joy.

These last five days have seen our mighty team, smash their times, progress and learn every step of the way. They are quite simply amazing.

This season has come to its conclusion, on an all time high, giving the club a solid foundation to grow from going into next season, and Newport Swimming Club is firmly on the map… look out Wales… we are coming…

Thank you to all the coaches, team managers, chaperone’s, officials and parents who have, helped, supported and championed our team every step of the way. None of this could happen with out you 🥰

Well done to everyone who took part you will and always will be our super heroes!!

Have the best summer all 🤩
