Hope everyone is having a lovely summer holidays 💦

We are enjoying the slower days before September arrives.

Saturday group emails will be heading out this week so keep an eye on your emails 📨

Breathing isn't just about swimming faster—it's about staying safe. 🌊

One of the biggest mistakes people make in the water is holding their breath. While it might feel natural at first, it causes carbon dioxide (CO₂) to build up in your body. As CO₂ levels rise, you can quickly feel breathless, anxious, and fatigued, making it much harder to stay calm and swim effectively.

Learning to breathe rhythmically while swimming helps your body work more efficiently, conserves energy, and allows you to stay in control if you ever find yourself in difficulty.

The goal isn't just to swim—it's to breathe, stay calm, and give yourself the best chance of surviving in the water.

💙 Remember: Calm breathing saves energy. Energy helps you stay afloat. Staying afloat can save your life.

What a great activity for your little one 💦

Not only are they keeping cool, you are too!

Water builds muscular strength, core stability, co ordination, develops speaking and listening skills.

The great thing as a swim teacher is we see the results of consistency, our little ones action or tell us what song they would like next, they thrive on the routine, have their favourite songs we sing and move in ways they simply cannot on land. Choose swimming today, a life skill that cannot be taken from them.

Do you want to get your Pre-Schooler or baby building the fundamentals of swimming?

Our parent and child classes are built on the foundations of swimming skills from the get go! 🙌🏼

We see clear differences between children who have been in parent and child groups before starting independent lessons. They have fast-tracked progression, and can build on skills quickly and confidently.

With swimming, consistency always dominates, children who have been exposed to swimming consistently show improved ability to pick up skills, greater core stability, balance and speed in other areas of life.

In our parent and child lessons we work on various other developmental milestones, language development, early numbers recognition and colours. Our water based singing develops the child's abilities with their speech and language development out of the pool.

Tuesday 10am and Wednesday at 9.45am Shanklin Hotel

Tuesday 4.45pm at UKSA in Cowes

💦 Water confidence and Water Safety does not come naturally to many.

💦 We need to learn the skills to be able to be confident and safe around water.

💦 A high percentage of school-aged children do not have the opportunity to gain these vital life skills at a young age.

💦 Living on an island means we have the opportunity to enjoy the water far more than many other people.

💦 When the weather warms up, tragic stories emerge from the news about children getting into difficulties or drowning in the UK waters (Seas/Rivers/Lakes).

💦 As a parent we need to be proactive and give our children the time to learn to swim, enjoy water and feel the benefits.

💦 Cowes UKSA Tuesday after-school. (Term time)
