Join us for training on a Wednesday evening at Llanwern High School . It's an open session free to anyone over the age of 50 .

With the heatwave over ,the school back open and the tour to Barcelona done its back to training this Wednesday

Due to Llanwern High School being closed Wednesday and Thursday this weeks training session is cancelled

We are meeting every Wednesday 6.30pm -7.30pm for training ( a kick about is more accurate). This is an open session so if you are over 50 (or approaching it soon) and looking to start playing again or just want to use it for fitness come along and join us at Llanwern High School NP18 2YE

Congratulations to Wales over 75s on winning the 2026 Euros hosted by WVFA at Ocean Park Arena, Cardiff.🏆
Despite a 2-1 defeat in the final game to England played in appalling conditions, a 4-4 draw in the Germany v Denmark game ensured our over 75s came out on top of the group.

Wales over 70s finished as runners-up . They went into their final game also against England knowing that they needed a win. England were the better side in the first half and would have gone ahead but for a great save from Wales keeper Alan Meacham. Wales improved after the break and as the game progressed kept pushing for the winner. A penalty 2 minutes from time looked to give them the opportunity to win the tournament but it was saved by the England keeper.

A fantastic few days seeing so many players over the age 70 still enjoying the beautiful game ⚽️ and congratulations go to all the nations competing 🇩🇪 🇩🇰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

If you are missing your football fix get yourself down to Cardiff next week to watch Wales in the inaugural o70+ & o75+ European Football Championships held at the Ocean Park Arena in Cardiff on 8th, 9th & 11th June. Wales will be joined in both age-groups by Germany, Denmark and our friends from across the bridge, England.

As usual Newport Vets FC have a strong representation in both age groups and wish all players good luck in a tournament which is a 'warm up ' for the World Cup taking place later in the year in Brisbane.

It wasn't to be for our over 50's in their cup final yesterday dispite taking a 4th minute lead against a very strong well organised team .

Our congratulations go to Llanelli Veterans FC over 50s on completing a league and cup double this season .

Hopefully reaching their first cup final will give our 50s something to build on for next season and help in the drive to recruit new players for the 26/27 season .
