This September, our Performance Group is getting a brand-new name, a brand-new structure and some exciting new opportunities! 🌟

We are delighted to introduce SLDA COMPANY 💗

Over the years, our Performance Group has given so many of our dancers wonderful opportunities to perform, grow in confidence, make new friendships and create some very special memories together.

As the group has grown, we feel the time is right for its next chapter — and we would especially love to encourage some of our younger dancers to come and be part of it! 🩰💃

From September, SLDA Company will be divided into three groups:

💕 SLDA Junior Company
Primary – Grade 1
From age 6

✨ SLDA Youth Company
Grades 2–4/Intermediate Foundation

🌟 SLDA Senior Company
Grade 5 / Intermediate and above

Why join SLDA Company?

Company gives dancers the chance to take what they learn in their weekly classes and experience the excitement of performing together as a team.

Along the way, dancers develop…

✨ Confidence – becoming more comfortable performing in front of an audience.

💕 Friendships – spending time with dancers from across SLDA and forming friendships beyond their regular classes.

🎭 Performance skills – learning how to project, communicate with an audience and bring choreography to life.

🌟 Teamwork – understanding that every dancer plays an important part in creating a successful group performance.

💃 Versatility – experiencing different styles, choreography and performance opportunities.

🩰 Independence & responsibility – learning choreography, preparing for performances and becoming increasingly confident backstage.

💗 And, perhaps most importantly… having fun and making memories!

SLDA Company is not just for dancers who want a career in dance and you do not need to be the most confident performer in the room before you join.

In fact, Company can be a wonderful place to build that confidence.

We want it to be a supportive environment where dancers can challenge themselves, enjoy performing and feel that wonderful sense of belonging that comes from being part of a team. 💕

Our Company dancers have enjoyed some fantastic experiences over the years — performing at events and showcases, travelling together, taking part in special workshops and representing SLDA beyond their regular weekly classes. They have performed in the stage in the park at Euro Disney, in London at the Royal Academy of Dance, at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff and much more.

And some of our loveliest memories have come from seeing our older dancers supporting and encouraging the younger ones. We hope our new three-Company structure will give even more dancers the opportunity to grow up as part of our SLDA Company family. 🥰

So, if you have a younger dancer who has been watching our Performance Group and thinking “I’d love to do that one day…” — their day might be sooner than they think! 💕✨

Who can join SLDA Company?

If your dancer would like to join there is no audition.

Your dancer must be:

1) Taking 2 dance classes a week at SLDA.
2) Be at least 6 years old.
3) In primary level dance classes or above.

A new name. Three Companies. More opportunities. One SLDA.
