Paddle analysis in the warm!?
Paddling is essential in improving your surf game. If you can't paddle well then let's face it.....that session is going to suck! Paddle to get to the line up, Paddle to catch the wave.
Don't worry though! I can help you with that. Come to the 30+ degrees pool this winter and have 121 video analysis to improve your Paddle game. No matter how stormy it is outside you can still get surf specific training and be prepped for the next clean swell.

Currently having issues with an overly tight scapula on my RHS (video is on selfie mode) so doing some mobility drills to loosen up the area. This is a great exercise to help mobilize and strengthen the upper back for paddling and general posture.
Hanging at the bottom of the movement is also a really nice stretch as well as being a healthy way to decompress the spine.
Next time you're near a pull up bar etc have a go. Try a few reps of this 3 or 4 times a week amd feel the difference in how your upper back feels

**Mobility**

Too often people get super excited about the newest surf fitness programme and dive straight in without doing their home work or the trainer just handing them the workouts and sending them on their way.

Emoji man here ⬆️ could have done the same but if you take a look at the symmetry and balance of his body you will notice it is off.
This is due to an old injury and a physical job. Right now it may not cause too much discomfort or even be noticeable in the surf however give it time and it will cause multiple issues and deferred pain. For example this could cause lower back pain due to the tension on the spine due to surrounding muscles not being level.
Fortunately he has come on board and we are addressing this issue whilst still working on surf specific exercises.
Remember that no matter how good the programme is you have have to keep on top of mobility and body balance in order to prevent injury.

Don't normally put private life on work social but this seems to be a more regular occurrence in recent years. I learnt this morning a good friend has recently taken his life. Despite us talking a few times this year about staying strong and being open, it wasn't enough to keep him with us. You will be sorely missed dude.
Please, if anyone needs to talk, sit, hug or whatever, please come to me. I am available for whatever needs to happen to help you on your path. Rather feel the pain of seeing you in tears than feel the pain of not seeing you at all!

Easy body weight exercise that can be done anywhere. here is doing a pyramid set of 5 second increments ⬆️ 5 to 20 seconds then ⬇️ from 20 to 5 seconds. Have a go and let me know how you get on in the comments
