Normally we walk in the woods near our house every day, but now (while we're varying our daily 'outside' exercise) it's only every few days. It was magical to find the beautiful bluebells out this morning - a sign that nature goes on as normal while everything else is in flux.

A year ago today we were in Cornwall with this lovely lot, celebrating the end of a fantastically enjoyable fitness retreat. Our guests told us they’d achieved things they hadn’t thought they could and were inspired to make positive changes to their daily lives. While we’re sad not to be hosting retreats this spring, we’re focusing on the positives of this peaceful time. And we can’t wait to be doing it all again in the autumn.

If there was ever a time to enjoy cycling, it's now! Team sports are off the radar and it's so important for our mental and physical health to keep active. (Just take great care when on the roads!)

It's also a great time to get planning our dream adventure. We may not be able to put a date on it, but we can spend our new-found free time researching and planning how we'll turn those dreams into reality.

And we must to be forever grateful for normally be able to travel within and between countries and never take this for granted.

These are some of the messages from Jen's interview on BBC Radio Bristol this week about her solo cycling adventure around the Baltic Sea. Listen in (starting at minute 22.50) for a bit of light relief! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p083wn9s

Getting out for a run this week is even more important than ever. The endorphins released through exercise can ward off the negative effects stress and anxiety has on our immune systems. Running helps keep us physically and mentally strong ... one step at a time, one day at a time...

On a wet and miserable day it’s so tempting to stay inside, but getting out even for a short walk somewhere green can lift our spirits and fill us with positive energy. Nature is amazing at reviving us and, even in the middle of a city, we’re never far from it.

Just 3 days to go until Jen's talk 'From Bristol to the Baltic: a solo cycling adventure' as part of Bristol International Women's Day 2020. Come and join us at City Hall at 12.30 to hear about Jen's adventure... and we hope be inspired to do your own.

Loads of other brilliant events are going on too - more info and the programme here: www.bristolwomensvoice.org.uk/international-womens-day-2/

Very excited to have picked up The Runner’s Cookbook today, by the brilliant . Her recipes are completely accessible - no rare ingredients needed - as well as delicious and nutritious. First thing we’re trying is the roast butternut squash filled with puy lentils and mushrooms, yum!
