We kicked off the new season in style today with Arthur and Dad getting this lovely carp on the bank 😍 They took part in a Get Fishing with First Catch session and picked it all up soooooo quickly, attaching their own bait, casting and unhooking in no time.

Very impressive and both have got their Silver 🥈 Get Fishing awards in the bag, we can't wait to have you back again 🙏🏻

We have some very exciting news...........🥁🥁

THE GET FISHING WITH FIRST CATCH PROJECT IS BACK 😃🥳🎉

We've been given the funding by the Angling Trust and Get Fishing to run the project again this year and it will continue where it left off last year......on the bank. So a massive thank you to the Angling Trust. This project has been made possible by the kind generosity of the Environment Agency donating rod license income money to worthy causes like us so we can in turn get more people into the sport 👏🏻

We're still yet to put any dates in the diary for this as were just waiting to sort out a few behind the scenes details with our kit etc but keep your eyes peeled to our socials as we will be announcing our first dates very soon. We will be using the same top quality venues as last year, Middle Boswin Fishery and Tregonetha Lake so a massive thank you in advance for them to help get more people into the sport.

Fundamentally, if you've always wanted to give fishing a try or you know someone who you think would love it then these event days are perfect for you. We will teach you all the basics of fishing and over the course of two sessions get you capable and confidently fishing independently 🎣

4 more people through their gold Get Fishing awards yesterday and a massive well done to them!!!! 👏🏻

All participants very comfortably confirmed that they're indeed new anglers yesterday, demonstrating they're comfortable use a disgorger, fishing independently and they even managed to bank a big carp, a huge well done.

This is our last Get Fishing with First Catch event of 2024 so just wanted to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you once again to my coaching team Get Fishing Angling Trust and Environment Agency for funding this project meaning it can get so many people into fishing. 👏🏻

They've created so many First Catch memories this year and have been integral in the delivery of our very successful 'Get Fishing with First Catch' project. So thank you again, we honestly couldn't do it without you.

The project we've delivered this spring and summer has been a roaring success with the last event we ran on Saturday being nearly fully booked. Keep reading to see how you could have one last opportunity this year to give fishing with First Catch a try...............

We're planning on running one more event, roughly around November 2nd or 3rd 2024. Now we know what you'll be thinking, what about the weather 🤷🏼‍♂️ we can't control that, but what we can and always do control and guarantee is that this event will be no different to any other we've delivered, with lots of Get Fishing skills being taught.

Before we officially release this date we want to ask who would be interested in us putting this event on? 🙋🏼‍♂️

We just had to share these photos that we've just had sent through to us off 2 participants from yesterday's Get Fishing with First Catch event who completed their bronze and silver awards.

Rudi and Ruben were absolute superstars patiently waiting to land their first catches during what was really tricky fishing conditions.

Great work both and well done. Hopefully we will see you again soon 🙌🏻

Today was our last Get Fishing with First Catch public event day of the season and it was full of fun. We've had some incredible success as well. All participants went home with their bronze 🥉and silver 🥈awards but more impressively 3 participants went home with their gold awards 🥇👏🏻🙌🏻 A huge well done to these participants for demonstrating they all have the necessary skills to fishing completely independently.

The conditions started off tricky with a nasty side wind and rain in the air, but, it slowly improved throughout the morning. The fishing was challenging throughout the day, although, all participants caught a fish which is always nice for us to see.
