I’ve spent over 28 years working across sport, fitness and physical activity in Cornwall and beyond.

From opening and managing my own facility, to turning around a £150k deficit at NQY Sports Centre and growing membership from 250 to over 1,200. From building community health programmes with Public Health and social prescribing teams, to leading CIMSPA’s Skills Hub across the Southwest — working with the NHS, local authorities, universities, DWP and independent providers to develop the workforce our sector needs.

Throughout all of it, one thing has been consistent.
The brilliant sole traders, coaches, instructors and small operators doing incredible work in their communities, often completely unsupported. Missing funding they didn’t know existed. Losing contracts because their governance wasn’t quite right. Delivering real health and social value with no way to prove it.

That’s why I’m building Active Health Creation.

A practical collective specifically for independent sport, fitness and physical activity providers across Cornwall, focused on three things:

✅ Helping you find and access funding
✅ Strengthening the business behind what you do
✅ Connecting you with other credible local providers

And to kick things off, I want to bring us together in person.
I’m planning a face-to-face networking event here in Cornwall for operators, coaches, instructors and activity providers across our sector. A proper conversation about what we need, what’s available, and how we grow together.
