Title Decider - League Champions on goal difference.

What a great end to the journey. I took this team over 3 years ago (u14's) and every year through their own hard work they have developed and grown as a squad. They have moved forward not just in league position but in life. They are a great bunch of lads who listen and show respect. (what they do at home I don't know! but in my experience they are top class lads)
It's amazing that having finished 5th out of 7 in the first year and then to finish as league runners up & semi finalists in the County Cup the following year shows how far they have come. Then today we only needed a point to claim the league title but having lead 1-0 & 2-1 we conceded again, up against the wind it looked like we were going to concede a third but that team spirit rose to the top and once again they dug deep and fought to the very end. Our first league title in our last year - a fantastic achievement and a credit to themselves and Newquay AFC Youth. It may only be on goal difference but as it means we have beaten our neighbours Godolphin to the title its even more enjoyable!! However they had -11 to our +3 so that certainly highlights the team spirit we had.
Well done lads - it's been a pleasure although I have gone a bit grey in the last 3 years.......Hopefully we can start a new journey next year when I take over Newquay 4th's.

1 point will see Newquay win the league but if Charlestown win by more than 4 then the title will be there's. A win by 3 goals will see the title go to our nearest rivals...Godolphin!! So you can be guaranteed the game will not be dull one!!
