Watergate Bay Motorsport

The Watergate Bay event has evolved over the years since the first hillclimb in 2018. Now we have the next exciting instalment!

Due to circumstances beyond our control we have to find a new course to race on - but we do love a challenge! The upshot of this is that unfortunately there will not be a Watergate Bay Sprint in 2026. However, we have new and exciting plans for 2027 which will still be at Watergate but a new course and exciting changes.

Tregrehan Speed Hillclimb takes place this weekend October 4th/5th. Situated alongside the A390 near Par Market. All classes will be racing from Juniors up to single seat race cars. On track from 9am Saturday and Sunday. Great spectator viewing. Image is of Ed Hollier current hill record holder. Former hill record holder Andrew Dinner will be hopping into John Opie's OMS whilst his Pilbeam is currently under repair.

My Watergate Bay Motorsport marshals 🚩 where can I begin I couldn’t be more proud on Saturday it became like trying to run a motorsport event in a war zone, but you the troops rallied a couple of you got overcome by the rain and the cold but battered through until you could be relieved and warmed up and in September that wind was vicious, we counted them out and counted them in the highest achievement in any motor sport event, but to top that all of us this weekend who marshalled the watergate Sprint 2025 are awarded with the trophy “spirit of the event” Big thank you to you all for being fantastic, and look forward to seeing you all at Tregrehan on the 4th October 🏁🙏

Well, that's it ! We done it. Thank you to all the marshals, South West Timekeeping Westcountry rescue, Pete Combellack Rob Henwood wood, the whole Watergate Bay Motorsport team, & to you, the fantastic public, who turned out on Saturday in the most awful conditions, & then came back again today in sun & showers, & to all our competitors for travelling to Cornwall to race on a closed road. WHAT A DAY ! !!!
RAIN, MORE RAIN WIND & MORE WIND !! 3 medical interventions, multiple crashes, oh, & 6 litres of oil dumped on track at the first chicane after John Penny destroyed his oil cooler on a bale. A massive thank you to the Orange Army. The marshals spent all day in horrendous conditions. For their dedication, they were awarded the Spirit of the Meeting award collectively.

WAX Watergate Bay will be serving food and drink all weekend to keep you going throughout the day.
