A very delicate restoration of the glass from this stove was needed here (I actually thought it was irretrievable)
But with some time and heavy duty tar removal products, the glass was fully restored, and not etched in the process.
Unseasoned wood in this holiday let from guests was the main culprit for this. Thankfully the flue was undamaged.

Had the pleasure of revisiting this beauty today. One of only 2 that I still sweep and service. Both still operating in some capacity, and this one will be having a refurb in the near future

Not a bad place to spend the day sweeping. Hard but rewarding, in a beautiful environment, working around the estate

Another recent creekside location. Absolutely stunning. North coast this time off the Camel estuary. You can see the Camel trail bridge in the distance.
This creek used to grind wheat and apparently had its own currency it was that significant. Heavily silted up now but beautiful just the same

A couple of recent waterside visits. Very different locations and weather, but both were absolutely beautiful.
Views from their lounge windows.
Penpol Creek, and Polkerris.

A nice overhaul today. Full internal refurb of this multifuel stove, bringing it back to full operation. For an elderly customer in his early 90’s recovering from pneumonia, and very glad to have his stove back up n running

The result of a long spell of no use, and lots of rain with no cowl. This is the result.
These rods were white at the start, thick black sooty paste on every rod, indicating the condition of the flue. Once swept, this will need re sweeping once some small fires have been lit and dried the flue.

What a day. So much history in one location. Dating back to 1635. 7 chimneys in total around the site

This is not the way to burn wood. Either unseasoned or oversized logs, or a combination of both has created very poor combustion and left a large deposit in this customers flue. To the point it had completely blocked the opening, completely plugged the flue entrance.
All clear now and safe to use again
