⚽ Rathfriland Ladies 0-1 Donegal Celtic ⚽
Rathfriland Ladies welcomed unbeaten league leaders Donegal Celtic on Friday night and produced a tremendous performance from start to finish.
After a strong first half with several chances from Annie, Katie and Courtney the sides went in level at 0-0. The second half was equally competitive with the defence of Lynn, Steffie, Megan and Caitlin keeping it tight and the midfield of Leanne, Lucy, Katie and Alana matching the league leaders every step of the way. A penalty was unfortunately saved, while further chances saw us hit the post and narrowly miss the target.
Donegal Celtic eventually found the breakthrough from a late corner, but the girls kept fighting until the final whistle, with Molly coming close to an equaliser with a fantastic effort that just went over the bar.
While disappointed with the result, the team can be incredibly proud of their effort, determination and work rate against an unbeaten side. It was a true team performance, and on another night Player of the Match could have gone to any one of the girls for the commitment and quality shown throughout.
⭐ Player of the Match: Laura
Thank you to Donegal Celtic for a competitive game, and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season. 🤍🖤

🌧️⚽ What a Day! ⚽🌧️
Saturday’s 7-a-Side Charity Tournament may have been met with plenty of rain, but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of everyone involved!
From the first kick-off to the final whistle, the support shown for our tournament in aid of Cancer Research UK was incredible.
What started as an idea from Rebekah turned into a fantastic day of football, community spirit, and generosity. Well done to Rebekah for bringing the idea to life and helping create such a brilliant day for everyone involved.

We would also like to sincerely thank everyone who donated raffle prizes and supported the fundraising effort. Your generosity made a huge difference and is greatly appreciated.
A special thanks goes to Gransha Engraving for their generous donation of medals for the winning team RFC Coaches and a trophy for Player of the Tournament William Austin from team Milestone!
We would also like to thank our referees, Wayne and Alex, for giving up their time to officiate throughout the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Comeback Almost Complete
Rathfriland Ladies travelled to Bloomfield on a wet evening and produced a spirited second-half comeback in a thrilling encounter.
The first half belonged to the hosts, with Bloomfield taking a commanding 4–0 lead into the break. However, Rathfriland emerged for the second half with renewed determination and immediately began to fight their way back into the game.
Katie got the comeback started with a superb free kick, before Bloomfield responded to restore their advantage. Undeterred, Katie struck again with a brilliant effort from outside the box to grab her second goal of the night.
Lynn then made it 5–3, showing great composure with her first touch before curling the ball into the net from open play. The pressure continued to build as Lucy played Abaigh through on the right. Abaigh took a touch and fired high into the net to bring Rathfriland within one goal at 5–4.
The equaliser soon followed. Lucy unleashed a powerful strike from distance that flew into the roof of the net to make it 5–5 and complete an incredible comeback.
Both sides had chances to find a winner, but it was Bloomfield who grabbed the decisive late goal to edge the contest.
Despite the result, Rathfriland Ladies showed tremendous character and determination to battle back from 4–0 down.
What a game! ⚽👏
