That’s a wrap on 2026! ⚽️🖤

Our final game of the NIWFA Barclays Division 5 season saw the ladies welcome 2nd-place Ballynagross FC Ladies to Iveagh Park on Friday night under the lights. 🌙⚽️

It was always going to be a difficult game, but with 3rd place already secured, the girls enjoyed their final game of the season. With injuries making things difficult, the game finished 7-1, with Danielle Megaw ⚽️ getting a great goal to get us off the mark. 👏

Player of the Match: On our last game, that has to go to every single player! 🖤 But Lucy Megaw certainly deserved the praise. ⭐️

A big thank you to Ballynagross for travelling to us, and we wish them all the very best in their League Cup Final in two weeks’ time. 🏆

What a season it’s been! 🙌

With so many returning players, a few new faces and some fantastic additions moving up from our youth section, we had our biggest squad to date. Together, the entire squad trained and played hard, resulting in our best finish to date — 3rd place! 🥉

A massive thank you to every player, coach, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who has been part of our 2026 journey. 🖤

Now we look forward to celebrating this great season at our Awards Night! 🏆✨

We’re delighted to be supporting this fantastic initiative in conjunction with Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council.

We’re asking our club families, players, supporters and wider community to have a clear-out and donate any used football or sportswear that still has plenty of life left in it! 🙌🏼

💗 ALL proceeds will go to Angel Wishes, helping support children and families affected by cancer.

So before you throw out those boots they’ve grown out of or the football gear that no longer fits, please consider donating it. ♻️⚽️

Rathfriland FC Youth are welcoming girls to come along and get involved with our U11, U14 & U16 girls’ groups.

Whether you’re already playing or completely new to football, everyone is welcome! Come along, have fun, make friends and give it a go. ⚽️🙌

We’re excited to get the girls back on the pitch this Thursday at Iveagh Park, 6–7pm!

Donegal Celtic 1–2 Rathfriland FC Ladies

Rathfriland Ladies travelled to Belfast on Friday evening to face unbeaten league winners Donegal Celtic. The girls knew they were in for a tough test and would have to dig deep — and that they did! 💪

The work rate was outstanding, frustrating the opposition before going in front through Lucy Megaw, who raced clear of the defence and calmly slotted the ball home. ⚽️

HT 0–1

The second half was more of the same, with the girls giving everything and being rewarded when Emma Johnston’s well-placed free kick doubled the lead. ⚽️

Donegal Celtic did get one back and pressed hard for the equaliser, but the ladies’ determination all over the pitch saw them hold on for a fantastic 2–1 victory, all but guaranteeing 3rd place in the table! 👏🖤🤍

A fantastic performance from the ladies on Friday evening as they secured a well-deserved 4–1 victory at home against Bloomfield FC Ladies! 👏🤍🖤

The ladies found themselves 1–0 down early on, but regrouped brilliantly and created several chances before Lily levelled the score to make it 1–1 going into the break. ⚽️

The second half saw Rathfriland push forward looking to take control, and they got their reward when Catherine Bell found herself free inside the box and fired an unstoppable effort into the net for her first senior goal! ⚽️👏

The ladies continued to press and extended their advantage when Megan McClure picked up a loose pass, weaved her way forward and struck brilliantly from distance. ⚽️🔥

Late on, Lucy and Katie worked a short corner, with Katie eventually getting her shot away to seal the fourth and complete an excellent team performance. ⚽️

The ladies are back in league action tomorrow night as they welcome Bloomfield FC Ladies to Iveagh Park.

The last meeting between the sides was a thrilling League Cup semi-final, with Bloomfield edging a closely contested game 3-2 to book their place in the final. Our ladies will be looking to turn the tables this time around and secure three valuable league points.
