We are delighted to advertise the opportunity for a number of individuals to join the management committee and become directors of the Northern Ireland Futsal Federation. The Federation leads all aspects of this relatively new and exciting variation of football here in Northern Ireland.

The Federation is the first of its kind to look after all aspects of the sport both male and female and has been the pioneer in the developments rolled out throughout all amateur football. We would like to attract vibrant, enthusiastic individuals who will add to the committee and positively drive futsal forward. We are expecting substantial interest in these roles and would be most grateful if you could please forward your name and email address to [email protected] below before 30th July at 5pm.

We are interested in people with the following experience/expertise:

Media/Communications
We require some savvy and creative people to help run our media, social and communications strategy. This person(s) will collaborate to create weekly social posts from League matches and map out a full yearly schedule working in collaboration with the Commercial teams and their sponsors/partners. You will be in charge of boosting the profile of the sport including working with our outsourced broadcasting teams that bring to life our Playoffs and Cup Finals, photographers/videographers and everything in between. Commercial With funding secured for the next 2 seasons, our long term aim is to become financially self sustainable, therefore we need someone to help us adopt a commercial strategy, and bring in new commercial partners and sponsors to help us re-invest and support all the initiatives that our League & member Clubs require to ensure the sport has long term sustainability.

Finance
We need someone with a finance background willing to take on the role of Treasurer. You will be in charge of setting and managing the Budget each season, making & collecting payments and provide monthly reports. You will liaise with external accountants to help prepare and file annual accounts & tax assessments.

Legal/Corporate Secretarial/Governance
We are looking for someone with a legal/corporate secretarial/governance background. Help shaping our governance structures, undertaking company secretarial duties (meeting minutes, companies house filings etc). In addition you will help shape our disciplinary procedures and contribute towards compliance with relevant laws and our own constitution.

Events Management
We are looking for someone experienced in events, to head up the organisation of our Playoffs and Cup Finals, as they are broadcast on Live Stream (and potentially, we hope, on TV). In addition, you will help organise & manage the end of year Awards Dinner.

BENEFITS OF FUTSAL

What makes futsal different to football, and why does it help develop world-class footballers?

THE SURFACE: On a hardcourt surface, the ball moves quicker and increases the speed of play. In a faster game, thinking time is reduced, and your speed of thought improves.

THE BALL: The ball has less bounce and keeps the ball on the ground more. This increases the touches of the ball.

THE SIZE OF THE COURT: A smaller playing area means less time on the ball and requires players to be technically better.

THE RULES: The rules of futsal help create a fast and exciting game. 5v5 increases 1v1 duals, and players are required to be able to play under pressure from their opponent.

TACTICAL AWARENESS: Futsal is far more tactical than people think. Players, although they have favoured positions, are not pigeonholed in a set position, and all players have a responsibility to attack and defend. Futsal is a game of high intensity with constant attacking/defending and transitions. The game challenges players TECHNICALLY, TACTICALLY, PHYSICALLY, and MENTALLY.

We learn through REPITITION, and in futsal, players are on the ball more, have more decisions to make, have more duals, more attacking/defending, more shots at goal, more saves and importantly, make more mistakes.

When you read the benefits, it's no coincidence that all those in the picture played futsal on their journey to the highest level of football.
