We are welcoming new beginners to our Highland Dance classes this Janurary!!
Highland dancing is a fun, energetic way to build confidence, coordination and fitness in a supportive friendly environment.
No experience need to to sign up as classes are beginner friendly.
Highland Dance offers great experience for children as they grow and progress through the ranks and levels of highland dancing through competitions locally and internationally and through SDTA official Dance exams! 👯🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Classes start ages three and up and your first class is FREE!
We hold classes on Wednesdays at 4:30pm in Altnaveigh house newry!

Our tutor Zara enjoyed teaching a summer scheme up in Killyleagh this past week! 🎉
She was joined by our friends from the Michelle Johnston School of Highland Dance who gave beautiful performances of their dancing!!
The children learned lots of new skills such as counting music, great coordination skills, social skills and teamwork and also lots of confidence!
It’s not too late to sign up for classes in Newry for the new term in September. Everybody aged 3+ welcome . 🎊🎊

I couldn’t be prouder of this bunch!
As we finished up for the summer our dancers received some fabulous awards. Including some of our team who participated in SDTA dance examinations. They worked super hard all year round and it was very evident in their exam results.
While we are missing a few faces in these photos, everyone enjoyed getting there prizes and a few sweets before their summer break. I can’t wait to see them all back again in September!🎉🏅🏅

A wee throwback today!!
In February our tutor taught a six week course with the Junior girls of Clough Girls Brigade!!
Such a talented and fun bunch of girls and we can’t wait to work with the Clough GB again in the future!
This girls learnt lot of highland dancing but I think it’s safe to say that dancing over the swords was their absolute favourite!
We wish them and all their leaders a lovely summer holiday and look forward to seeing them again soon! 👯‍♀️🎉
