There are some moments in martial arts that mean a little bit more than others… and this is definitely one of them. 🥋💙

10 years ago, Ellen trained with me as a child.

Life moved on, as it does. School, growing up, new chapters, different priorities.

And now, a decade later, Ellen has walked back through our doors and returned to training.

I genuinely don’t think people always realise how special that feels as an instructor.

You spend years teaching children, helping them build confidence, discipline and belief in themselves, and then eventually they grow up and head off into the world. You hope that somewhere along the way, something you taught them stays with them.

So to see Ellen back in the Do Jang, now older and ready to continue where she left off, is a real full-circle moment for me.

She isn’t starting again.

She’s continuing her story.

Martial arts will always be there for you. Whether you’ve been away for a few months, a few years, or even a decade, the door is still open.

Ellen, it is absolutely brilliant to have you back with us.

We’ve a few more belt presentations taking place across Newry, Warrenpoint and Kilkeel this week, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more of our students have their moment.
