Every Friday at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. Just turn up and play.

6.00-7.30pm

Fun and friendly games with coordinators on hand to help organise matches and provide everything you need to get going.

We have had over 100 people come along with many now playing competitive games for Aycliffe Badminton Club and others making it a regular part of their week.

Reminder that there is no Club Night this Friday (12/6) 7.30-9.30 session.

No strings is on as normal however 6.00-7.30. Hope to see good numbers down!

🏸🏸 A fantastic evening on Friday at the Club AGM and end of year presentation with lots of members and current no strings players coming along for some fun awards and a quiz at the Oakleaf. Thanks to everyone who attended! The minutes from the meeting are being finalised and will then be shared with members. 🏸🏸

ABC Quiz - 🧠
The first ABC was well received and could become a regular feature of the AGM. Not quite the Mastermind Bowl but the “ABC Glass Shuttle” kindly donated by James S was awarded to the 2026 outright winners: Matthew P, Ginny E, Dan M, and Matthew S.

Thank you to all of the committee for their time and efforts over the last year and to the team captains for their role in helping organise and run teams. In addition, thank you to Tony and Ian who have both decided to step down after years on the committee. A special thanks must also go to Ian who has helped ensure ABC has continued to thrive as a club for so many years. The club and all its members were keen to express their gratitude for his efforts in the many roles he had held at the club and in the Darlington League. Final thanks also go to those members who have decided to step into new committee roles for the upcoming year and support the club.

Final League tables are in and round off a brilliant year for Aycliffe Badminton Club. Thank you to everyone who represented the club this season and contributed to the brilliant outcomes:

LADIES TEAM - The ladies team finish in a very respectable 3rd place, unfortunately unable to make 3 years in a row as league winners but only narrowly missing out by 5 points. Thanks to all those who played for the team including all of the new additions this seasons squad. Special thanks also go to Ginny for taking on the role as Team Captain again.

OPEN TEAM - The Open team achieved promotion into Division One and have had an incredibly successful year playing out some brilliant matches. The depth in the team from both our male and female members has meant the Open Team has been able to field strong sides for all fixtures. A big step up next season but a challenge to look forward to. Thanks to Dan for captaining the team again this year!

MIXED TEAM - The most successful year for Aycliffe Badminton Club's Mixed Team for quite a few years sees us finish 3rd in the league! The team managed an impressive 9 wins over some very strong mixed pairs. Many new partnerships were trialed this year which once again is a credit to our squad depth at ABC. Thanks to Matty for taking on the role of captain this year too!

Junior tournament opportunity

The Junior Super Series Tournament is returning in the upcoming May half term break, and we are thrilled announce that entry is now 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡. All events in the tournament will take place on Tuesday 26 May.
