The Club held a successful bingo evening tonight in the Vibe 75.

We would like to thank everyone for coming along to support us , Sheila Livingstone for all her hard work and donating the fantastic prizes , our wonderful bingo caller Tracy McGaw , Diane and Susan selling all the books and to all those who once helped make it and enjoyable night where the fantastic sum of £1015.00 was raised

Matchday 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. . .

The Creesiders are back on the road this Saturday as we make the trip to take on Caledonian Braves in the Lowland League West.

It’s Game Day 9 in our first season in the new league, and the boys will be looking to put in another big performance and come away with something from the trip. 💪

⚫️⚪️⚫️ CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT ⚫️⚪️⚫️

Newton Stewart F.C. can confirm tonight that the club has released winger Joe McMillan on the players request.

We would like to thank last years top goal scorer for the part he played in last seasons double cup success and ultimately winning promotion to the Lowland League West.

Everyone at Blairmount would like to wish Joe all the very best in whatever the future holds for him.

Today we welcomed Dalbeattie Star to Blairmount Park in match day 8 of the Scottish Lowland Football League West.

The home side had the first real chance in the tenth minute when Harry Mitchell broke away at speed sending a great ball wide to Robert Middleton and the big forward looked up before squaring across the area to his strike partner and Mitchell’s strike flew past the keeper but was brilliantly blocked on the line to deny the home side a dream start in the derby. On the quarter of an hour mark the Creesiders had another chance when a corner from the right was partially cleared before falling kindly for Charlie Caygill on the edge of the box , spinning quickly and his snap shot was deflected round the post to safety. The only goal of the opening period came in the 29th minute when from a great ball to the left flank Dylan Woods produced an absolute screamer from 25 yards leaving the keeper no chance to give the Islecroft side the slender advantage at the break.

The home side emerged after the interval looking rejuvenated and in a dominant opening ten minutes they came close to levelling the contest on several occasions. Firstly Robert Middleton found himself through on goal and he slid his effort across the keeper but narrowly wide of the far post. The sustained pressure continued and from Harry Mitchell’s angled strike a minute later the Star keeper somehow managed to get a great hand to the ball and push it round the post. The home team were looking a totally different side at this stage and after they won a brilliant tackle in the centre of the park the resulting through pass found Robert Middleton and he blazed his first time shot across goal inches wide to deny the big forward once again. The home sides pressure finally paid off in the 65th minute when an Aaron Drysdale corner was contested on the edge of the six yard box before breaking to captain Marc Whyte who managed to stab the ball over the line to level the contest. In a match with barely a poor challenge all afternoon the yellow card count bizarrely reached double figures. With time running out and a share of the points on the cards a superb long diagonal pass from Martin McClorey found Harry Mitchell baring down on goal and he shrugged off the desperate challenge from the Star defender before smashing home a brilliant effort with four minutes to go sparking jubilant scenes from those inside the healthy Blairmount Park crowd. With nerves jangling in the closing minutes the Creesiders held on to secure a historic and much deserved first ever win at tier 5.

The team deserve all the plaudits coming their way this evening after a superb second half display and hopefully this is a turning point in our season. We would like to thank Star for a great battle as always and both teams produced a great effort for all those in attendance this afternoon.

90+5' | CREESIDERS WIN!!!

For the first time ever in the Scottish Lowland Football League West the Creesiders claim victory and even better that it was at Blairmount

We would like to thank the visiting side Dalbeattie Star FC and their supporters. We go again next weekend as we play North Lanarkshire side Caledonian Braves in an away fixture.
