NSC gets back to SU League action this weekend after travelling to Limerick for the 2026 IOST. The Phoenix go to Ward Park on Sunday to take on the Buccaneers in the away fixture for this season. It will be a great game so come down to Bangor to watch some fantastic softball.

The Phoenix travel to Hydebank to take on the Sliders in the return fixture for this season. Its sure to be a great game between two evenly matched sides.

Wednesday evening saw the first meeting of the season for Newtownabbey Phoenix and BSC’s Smoking Aces. After securing the win on the same pitch, against the Cyclones just 3 days earlier, Phoenix had found their A division groove and hoped to soar once more.
The game began, Phoenix opened with the first 3 players in the batting order crossing home plate. The final run of the inning came via SS James with a cheeky home run. What a way to return after time off due to injury. Aces replied with a hefty 8 runs during the first inning. Mel on 1st base unfortunately took a hit to the chest with a line drive ball off the bat, but stayed on the field till the end of the inning - showing true grit 💪
The second inning saw Adara (who had subbed in for Mel) first up to bat, she did the team proud securing her first of 3 runs that evening. With Adara setting the scene, the rest of the team followed suit and brought in another 5 runs.
By the top of the 3rd inning, an hour of game time had already passed, Phoenix knew stamina would be key to securing the win. In the 3rd, Phoenix found their flow at the plate and got through the entire order achieving 13 at bats and 8 runs scored. Aces runs were limited to 2 runs by the visitors.
Phoenix managed to put runs on the board over the next 4 innings, holding on to their lead forged in the 3rd inning. Co Captain Micheal S shone in the 5th & 6th inning achieving all 3 outs as big catches while in LC and a 3RBI home run in the 6th inning. The atmosphere was electric! The final play of the game saw the Newtownabbey side’s newest recruit Sarah, get the out with a fly ball catch - the team were elated!
Strong communication, a spirited attitude and trust in each other really enhanced Phoenix' s game on Wednesday. 🧡🖤 To say the team is hyped after this win is an understatement and the team will ride this wave into their next meeting on the return leg Vs Sliders on Monday evening.

The Neptunes travel to Lisburn to tackle the high-flying Hawks 🦅 in the second meeting between the two sides this season. The Lisburn side claimed victory in the previous fixture but who will win out this time? Come along to find out.

🔥🥎 Phoenix Match Result 🥎🔥

Grateful to have another sunny afternoon to head out and play softball, Phoenix headed on Sunday to have their away game against Cyclones! The last match between the two was a home victory for Phoenix with an eye wateringly close one point game! Phoenix knew they were going to have to up their game if they wanted a decisive win.

Both teams gave little up in the first innings. Two each then zero tie for inning one and two. Cyclones with great gloves and solid defence kept the Phoenix from heating up too much. Cyclones popped one ahead in the third but Phoenix played tit for tat and shut them down in the fourth and responded with their own run courtesy of an RBI from Lauren.

The fifth inning saw a wave of runs wash over Victoria Park - 10 in all with 5 to each side! Impressively, with two away Phoenix dug their claws in and made four runs after those two outs - egged on by their teammates!

Score tied 8 all going into the 6th, it was all to play for. Phoenix knew what they had to do, keeping Cyclones to 2 with great defensive plays and shut the home side down. In the 6th, patient play and careful batting choices got Phoenix on the bases, then they really turned up the heat. A beast of a double RBI home run from newcomer Sarah, Phoenix were up 5 in this inning and weren't done cooking. More great batting saw 5 more runs including a home run each for Oonagh and Michael S. The score now 18 - 10 Phoenix knew their last bat was important. James stepped up first and smashed a great homerun. Cyclones got two more outs in succession but once again Phoenix were undeterred and flew home another 6 with two outs looming. With the score at 25-10 the Cyclones stepped up to bat determined, they showed great grit, putting three more on the board before tight infield plays and pitching closed down their scoring for the match. A great outcome for NSC Phoenix as they have worked so hard to compete at this new level.

Thanks to Cyclones for a great game and of course the Umps for giving up their time.

Phoenix head back to Victoria Park this Wednesday evening when they take on BSC Aces.

The Phoenix travel to East Belfast to take on the Cyclones in the Division A return fixture. The match earlier this season was an absolute classic with the NSC team taking the spoils by 27-26. Who will come out on top this time?

🔥🥎 PHOENIX MATCH RESULT 🥎🔥

Last Monday night our fearless Phoenix team headed to Victoria Park in Belfast to take on the Brawlers of Belfast Softball Club. The Phoenix last meet with the Brawlers ended in a 24-2 defeat so the visitors wanted to close that gap.

Brawlers got off to a great start securing 4 in the first inning, Phoenix played a patient game and took only 1. Inning 2 and 3 would see the Brawlers launch an attack, taking them to 14 by the end of 3 and it felt like a similar result to the first meet might be inevitable until Phoenix decided to fire up the flames and put 6 on the board with a strong start from 1st base Mel and confident and smart base running.

The next inning saw Phoenix hold Brawlers to 1 while they put on 2 and in the fifth, 3 quick outs saw the home team get none and the visitors with 3 including a brilliant home run from Michael Smyth! A close game at 15-12!

The sixth saw both teams put up 1 each bringing the score to 16-13. With the final at bat for the visitors, Phoenix hoped to put more on the board but only managed 2 which seemed a bit of a relief for the home team. The Phoenix team have been working hard at training and showed up with great team spirit and determination for this rematch and their hard work and resilience paid off.
