Finn Anderson’s journey with IC:EX first began in November 2023 in Italy, where he received a scholarship after placing in his contemporary division. 🌎
He attended his first IC:EX Intensive in Holland as part of Gen 2 in May 2024, where he flourished under the expertise and guidance of the incredible guest choreographers and mentors. 🇳🇱
Finn later had the opportunity to reunite with dancers from the 2024 IC:EX Gen 3 workshop in NYC, joining the IC:EX cast for the YAGP Galas in Tampa and at Lincoln Center in NY. To perform alongside these incredible young artists on such prestigious stages was truly the stuff dreams are made of. 🇺🇸
In June 2025, Finn was honoured to join the European Lugano Project and Como Tour, experiencing the opportunity to work with repertoire by world-renowned choreographers. Being selected to perform a solo work in Lugano was an incredibly humbling moment, followed by the unforgettable opportunity to perform as a member of the IC:EX cast in Lake Como for the YAGP Gala, Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow. 🇮🇹
Finn’s IC:EX journey continued in 2026 with workshops in Bucharest, Romania, and Torino, Italy. During this time, he was selected as a cast member for Sharon Eyal’s Into the Hairy, recipient of the 2026 Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production. Performing the work with the IC:EX cast at the YAGP Gala at Lincoln Center in NYC in April 2026 was an unforgettable experience. 🇷🇴
In June 2026, Finn attended an educational and inspiring week in Amsterdam with the Royal Conservatoire Dance The Hague, through a YAGP scholarship awarded following his first-place achievement in Vicenza, Italy, in November 2025. 🇮🇹
The many opportunities and experiences Finn has received through IC:EX and YAGP have enriched him both technically and artistically, allowing him to grow enormously as an aspiring young artist. These experiences also motivated him to choreograph his own contemporary work, which he performed at the Bedells Bursary in London, where he was awarded the bursary. 🇬🇧
We had hoped Finn would be able to attend the IC:EX South Africa Intensive this October; however, his application to participate in The Margot Fonteyn IBC in London was gratefully accepted. He was also generously awarded a scholarship by the RAD to participate and has been working hard on a new choreographic work that he hopes to debut at the event. 🏴
We wish every dancer participating in the IC:EX South Africa Intensive an unforgettable experience. There is no knowing where one intensive, one opportunity or one connection may lead—and, having experienced that journey firsthand with our own Finn, we have no doubt there are many exciting adventures ahead. 🇿🇦
