🩰 50 YEARS OF DANCE IN NORTH SHIELDS 💃
This Sunday, Maureen Slater’s School of Dance will celebrate an incredible 50 years of inspiring young dancers in North Shields with a special sponsored coastal walk.

Setting off from the Spanish City at 10:30am, children from the dance school alongside parents and supporters will walk to Tynemouth Priory and back — proudly cheering along the coast in their Slaters uniforms with pompoms in hand. 🧑‍🩰

The walk has been organised by Maureen Slater herself to help raise funds for costumes ahead of the school’s huge 50th anniversary celebration show taking place this October.

For generations of local families, Slaters has been part of growing up in North Shields — and it remains a true family affair today, with Maureen’s daughter Hayley Wilkinson now running the school after becoming a champion dancer herself.
