The deaf awareness NE Badminton Club is a welcoming organisation which aims to bring deaf and hard of hearing people and their hearing counterparts together to enjoy some badminton play.

Club nights are based at Hadrian Leisure

Thursday 7pm - 9 pm

The group is supported by a Level 2 badminton coach on a Thursday evening who teaches skills such as racquet grip, shot selection and court positioning in a relaxed way to meet the needs of individual players.

Doubles and single games are played to round off the night.

Friday is social play

If you are unable to make Bewicke club nights on Tuesday or a Friday for whatever reason or just fancy playing some new players do consider going along.

Some sad news

We have had the sad news that Ian Little owner of Yehlex passed away yesterday morning after a short illness.

Ian was a greater supporter of badminton in the North East supplying shuttles, T-shirts, kit, rackets and stringing services to many people and clubs.

He also provided shuttles for many of our tournaments including the Gradeds and the Masters.

He also sponsored the Anglo Scottish League from its inaugaration 1997, supplying all the prizes up to it's 25th running last year, and also supplied the Northumberland Volunteer Awards presented annually at the NBA presentation evening.

Historically Ian also played in the leagues and ran tournaments as well as being on Durham's committee.

Ian will be a huge miss to Badminton in Northumberland

RIP Ian
